Let's talk about TV! Airbender/Attack on Titan

So now that I'm no longer a student, I'm finding myself with actual "spare time" - or, I got lazier when I got the dog because I couldn't write and keep him from wrecking my stuff - so I watched Avatar: The Last Airbender. My niece loves it.

Those on here who kept recommending it to me, I see why - wow, a lot of insane detail went into that show. I'm late to the party and prolly have nothing new to add, other then the entire "What do you mean you don't see anything Asian about it?" I saw it just from an outsider's POV, only looking at Aang, and he looked like a Tibetan Monk then. Watching the show was basically watching Wuxia - not that I'm wholly familiar with that genre, but I can see why so many people were pissed with the movie.

The other suggestion I got on here was to see Attack on Titan - which I marathoned through most of the episodes thanks to Netflix. Good rec - though not sure why I like all the supporting cast more then the main three. The titans themselves aren't giving me a sense of body horror like they probably should, but I'm getting a huge sense of the unknown when watching, which I think is great story telling. I'm also playing medic when I'm watching - as much fun as those 3D gear looks, I hurt myself the other day without thinking about it, it could have been worse if I was putting any effort into it. Ah well - overall I'm entertained, and it's supposed to rain for the next few days (argh) so maybe I'll finish.

Yes I have been writing - but let's just say that I've been focused on going to shows and I do way better selling books in person then I do with all the online stuff. I know it's part of my genre - things are slow, but we'll see.

I'm hopefully moving forward with some self-publishing by year's end. I hired an editor to look over a manuscript and I'm going to see where my honest flaws are, so therein I hope I'm going to get a little cleaner from here on in.

As for other things - getting permed up and I live about a five minute walk from work, summer is finally here and I have a wedding to go to in two days. Can't complain.
