1. His name is Conner Kent. NOT Connor. CONNER. Especially sentences like "I love Connor so much! He's one of my favorites!" just make me twitch. If you love him, spell his name right. I have just one story where I used Conner and had to go through and correct the spelling after I posted because I'd used Connor. I thought that was it and then you posted this. I compulsively went back to check and my Word doc still had Connor (although it's spelled right on LJ and DW). Sure enough, I used the Word doc to post to AO3. Doh!

Fixed! And thanks for the nudge to check. :-)

Well, I like the spelling Connor better, and considering how much comic and movie canon is messed up by Smallville, I'm giving myself some leeway in this. Conner, if you will, is just a fictional character and has no feelings, so he won't mind if I call him Connor in my own stories.

I actually like the name spelling Connor better than Conner, too. If you want to deliberately change a character's name in an AU that's fine, but in this case the reader has no way of telling that apart from all the various people who just don't know how to spell it.

That's true. However, my stories are almost always AUs, and those with 'Connor' are way out there in AU land. Any canon-preferring readers are going to be prejudiced against them long before they realize I'm spelling his name 'wrong'. Maybe I'll add a note to these stories telling people I know the canon spelling but that change pales in comparison to all the others. :-)))))
