I woke up late on Saturday around eleven and spent the first couple hours of my day relaxing. I talked with Ian online, and we set up plans to hang out that night. He said we hadn't hadn't hung out one-on-one in a while, and I agreed. I really do miss when we used to work together and take our breaks together every Thursday. He decided he'd take the train in and arrive around 4:30. He wound up getting in at 5:30, as he'd read the wrong schedule, but it didn't matter. Mike was at the Fox Valley mall picking up Johnny from work, so he called me and, they decided to come over. The three of us had a fun time together. We didn't do too much, but that didn't matter. We chatted in my room for a while while messing with the calligraphy brushes. Eventually we took a walk/ photo excursion to the "end of the road" factory by the alternate jogging route. It was cool to see it in the day, and we explored the area around it more than David Seguin and I had before. We walked back eventually, as I had to meet Ian at the station at 5:30, and Mike had to be back home by 6. Fortunately Ian's train was on time. The four of us walked back together and said goodbye near my dorm.
Ian and I were both starving, so after dumping his stuff in my room (which had my roommate and friends in it playing Nintendo...since when does that happen?), we went to Noodles and Company. We both thoroughly enjoyed what we ordered. On the way there, and while at Noodles, I saw people I knew from school. It's quite the popular place, I guess, as it's one of the only cheap restaurants downtown. We then went to Coldstone afterward. Ian had a coupon (go figure). We boasted about which one of our malts would be superior, and I think Ian's actually was better. He added a lot more stuff into it anyway. We got back to NCC and sat in the lounge and talked about sex, which seems to be a common conversation these days... We wound up hanging out a lot in the lounge, as my room mate and co. were in my room playing Nintendo for most of the night. We went through about twenty minutes of calling Mike, Cassie, etc. and trying to figure out if we were going clubbing or not.
We decided not too in the end. I wasn't really up for a long drive and trying to figure out how to get home on Sunday. Fortunately, it turned out that Wesley, Kirsten, Adrian, and a bunch of other people from the dorms were going to go laser tagging. The only problem was Ian and I would need to find our own ride. Fortunately, Melissa wanted to go too. Melissa, Adrian, Charlitha, Ian, and I rode together to the Brunswick Zone. It was a Funway type place, minus the bowling and roller skating. We wound up having to pay 8 dollars each for only 15 minutes of laser tag! The place in Aurora is much cheaper than that... I had mixed feeling about the laser tag at Brunswick zone.
The good points-
-The heat was off, so we didn't get really hot and could wear our coats.
- There was no referee or briefing
- Because of that we could run in the course and the half of our group that wasn't playing the first round was allowed to come in without gear and just run around (which lead to Ian, Kirsten, Melissa, and I dancing in the laser tag room during the second round)
The bad points-
- It was overpriced
- The vests didnt' react right away when shot
- Eventually some people's guns and vests just stopped working (mine, Wesley's, and Sean's at least)
So, if it had been cheaper and the vests had worked, it would've been a really cool place. The course was smaller than the Aurora one, but still nice. We watched some guy play DDR like a fiend after we were done. His feet were moving incredibly fast! On our way back to campus we (both cars) went through the Burger King drivethru. They forgot out order of fries and my milk the first time, though so we had to go through again. Back at campus we split up. Ian and I decided to watch Battle Royale. I called up Pixie and dashed over to Blue House to get it. Ian, Melissa, and I watched it on my bed. We even set up the speakers and subwoofer. Kirsten and Nico came in at the end, and we talked a bit. Ian slept on my big, round cushion on the floor, and we fell asleep at around three.
