National Novel Writing Month

First time updating this journal in...ugh, God knows how long. It's probably registered in geological time.

Okay, not. I'm a good little future marine-bio major, I know what geological time is.

So, anyway, the first time I heard about NaNoWriMo was from...eh...Biz, because I read her livejournal every week or so, but usually don't find it withing my energy confines to comment. Sooooo...she mentioned it quite a while ago, something about going through her computer, something about a horrible red and gold checkered shirt? *shrug*

She mentioned NaNoWriMo again just now, and provided a link. So I went to the website. And read. And read. And read. GOD! How much FAQ do they need? But it sounds fun, I think I'll give it a shot. I've had two ideas for things that push 50,000 words. One is a childrens book that concerns the death of one or two boys...the other...is a childrens book that concerns the death or quite a few natives. Eh, what the hell. I'm leaning towards the two boys one. I have a vauge idea of a semi-plot. Which is, apparently, more than you need for this thing. Fuuun.

I saw a small something about National Novel Writing Month in the classroom. Perhaps I shall appeal to Mr. Spain for extra credit. (for those who read my livejournal *talking to nobody* in one continuous burst, I have started a new school year. My english teacher is human this time, and infinitely more intelligent.)If he says no extra-credit, I'll do it anyway because it sounds fun. And my guess is if I actually accomplish the goal, he'll take me seriously.

*stops on a dime* Okay. That's it. Maybe I'll post my progress here, but probably not.
