Yuuhi's world.
Since... I am in the mood for writing, I shall write a little more about Yuuhi's world. As I have mentioned before (did I ever?), Yuuhi's world is an alternate universe. It runs parallel with our world and is largely the same, except that it is largely globalized. We assume that Man had developed a very convenient way of transport during that time. Yuuhi speaks of taking a train to a country on the other side of the world. xD
Basically, their world is one big country. Not a global village, but almost. It is then to be expected then, that there are a lot of inter-race marriages and children with multiple ethnicities. Yuuhi herself is a German-Japanese mix. Ichigo is a Chinese-Japanese mix, and Einrich is a German-Japanese as well. Carla Jeine is German-American.
However, this being a AU, the countries have alternate names, alternate Japan being "Tsunashi". (A mix of tsunami and arashi. Tsunami, well, everyone knows what that means, and Arashi means storm/typhoon. The country is named so for its frequent natural disasters.)
I haven't thought of names for all the other countries yet... but. I will get to it. Right now, let's concentrate on Tsunashi. It has mostly Japanese and half-Japanese people, duh, because it's the alternate of Japan! (They would be called Tsunashians, I think.) And as I said, there's a lot of people with multiple ethnicities (half-Japanese usually) around, even though it's Tsunashi.
Yuuhi lives in a surburb in Tsunashi. A rather remote and laid-back place, but even so it has felt the effects of globalization. The town relies mostly on the marine industry, it being a coastal area.
The town is rather small, with a small populace to match. Many people are leaving the town each year (Yuuhi's brother [Soori!!] left for alternate-England), and more and more rich people move there -- living resort-style. One example is Einrich, who has a tycoon dad. Moved to Yuuhi's town for the clean air and scenery -- and IS living resort-style.
Yuuhi, meanwhile, is living apart from her parents. Her parents live closer to the coast in an entirely different town. Of course, this is to do with her studies, and the location of her university. You could say that her parents are suffering from a bit of the empty nest...
