Okay! I'm back, and I'm late, I got distracted by YT, well, it's not like it doesn't happen so often but I wanted to post this, because ...well, many reasons! I don't know if I feel like writing a lot but remembering all the way back to the first time I listened to this song brought back many memories...

Okay, so like I said, I heard this song for the first time during this presentation, I'll link a YT video so who knows how long it'll be up, but I loved this performance. I remember watching Mazy Night first, and I'm not going to pretend I'm not biased here, but I do like Mazy Night, I liked how they danced and the song overall, but just by listening to the first 5 sec of music I knew this song would be my favorite. And I love the outfits from this presentation, and by that I mean I love Fuma's clothes XD, again biased, and all the little FumaKen parts, I just loved the song. So, I decided that no matter the coupling songs I wanted to translate the main song from this single. Actually, I started back then, I remember I was translating the Tohoku SP by then... and then, everything happened... with the world being so bad, or worst or who knows by now, I really can't tell by now how when things started to become really bad because that also seems to be today! There's really something wrong with this year!!
Which doesn't mean that there wasn't good stuff too..but~ Yes, I'll be random today...I'm scared! I'll tell you why later~

So, this single is call RUN and it was long-awaited since its release date was postponed due to world crisis... and we had to wait a lot, and since I'm watching Miman Keisatsu, a couple of times due to my helping to translate it into Spanish I could listen to the parts we didn't hear from it first, and I loved it, even more, I wanted to make Kai-kun and Jiro-chan shut up, for me to listen, and I love those two!! The lyricist and composer of this song are the same people, Takuya Watanabe, a composer, arranger, and lyricist. He has worked before with, Takaki Yuya's Michishirube, many Tegomass' songs, and I'm sorry for mentioning that half~, also other NEWS' songs such as チラリズム and Lovin' U, and two couplings songs from Yamada's solo debut single. That's an interesting list~ So, I got kanji from here and here is my try!

I love this song... I really love this song, I love encouraging lyrics! I love the music and I love the emotion in their voices, how each one of them was able to convey the strength in the lyrics! I highlighted my favorite part, and the reasons why I love this song this much are better conveyed in this review, I loved to read it~
And about the lyrics, well, this is definitely NOT a literal translation, I add a couple of expressions, more than anything, I'll tell you where and mostly to convey the dynamism of the style of the music and the message overall, I feel like I kind of like the result when I read it with the song, but maybe that's just me loving the song so much!

- The first stanza was hard! because who is the subject? But, take a look at the video, how the performance starts and it's just that, the wind blowing all around Kenty, just picture that and that's it! lol, and I added the quotation marks to kind of hint is a request to make the English part melt within the stanza. Nothing is certain, as to how you have nothing to hold on to when it's the wind we're talking about, I like to think about that also. So I did kind of adjust the first stanza to this idea.

- There are many parts that I left as a request/order, more than an invitation to do it together. And most of them come from Fuma, lol.

- I love the part of the clouds, I picture it like the clouds that will cover the sun for you, so you need to go beyond them. Also, I want to clarify, that even though I did take my liberties and add a couple of expressions instead of the literal translation, I do love to keep all the little words, especially the endings which more than a direct translation convey an intention, a mood, so I like to put that also into words.

- I left the 'less than yesterday' to the end because of the last line, which is super beautiful. First, 'less than' evokes the dorama and I love to find that in the lyrics :D. Second, the last line, so, in the chorus, it usually ends with 'even if it's less than yesterday', meaning even if the brightness is less than yesterday, it'll still shine in the dark, or you'll run ahead, even if it's less than yesterday, but you'd have moved on ahead. So, by the very end, it says something that I like to see as a tomorrow with more, and also beyond it, like the opposite of the less than~ I like the choice of words :D

So, to conclude, do not pretend you don't feel the pain but keep on running!

I don't usually pick main songs to translate, and don't get me wrong, I love each song from this single, it's just almost perfect. Small Love Song is so good, for being their first song in English, well the theme is so special and such a weird choice and if they weren't as young as they are I'd doubt if one of them is a father LOL, but the song is so beautiful, in lyrics and vocals. TOGETHER has lyricists and composers I usually enjoy and I love the vibe in this song. Break Bad is really catchy, it wouldn't be my pick to translate but I really like it. And lastly So sick, I don't know, maybe it's me just being biased because I'm usually very picky and all, but I love this song, I think this will be the third if I ever get the time~
Tomorrow I have a zoom meeting with one class, with the kids I'm not able to see for months! since the first two weeks in March since before the world, we knew changed to never go back to normal...until now. I'm super scared and excited, I miss them,...how many will be connected, what will they say? Will they turn on their cameras? Will they talk? I've been missing them like crazy and I have to go to sleep to stop freaking out so much!!

And now is the moment I realize for the n-th time that it takes me too long to write this, so I'll make this ending better tomorrow, now, a bunch of purely biased pics!!! meaning Fuma, I love Fuma's expression as he was sleepy.. why? really don't know
