I could never finish Day 3, even though I think JUMP was one of the best performances in the latest Happy Live with you, and it was because seeing 3nin NEWS broke my heart so much. Lately, things have settled much better and tbh seeing Massu hitting a piñata with all his might while scolding Tegoshi in some way for them becoming 3 was so healing LOL~
That intro had nothing to do with WEST, but I was getting there, I mean I wasn't able to go past through NEWS and watch WEST performing this song as their last song. This is a beautiful rockish ballad for this dorama in which 2 members starred. BTW, YabuHika singing Go Fighter was so great! Yabu enjoying being on stage is one of the best things about JUMP. And again, nothing to do with WEST lol, I don't know much about WEST...
So, this is the last single to date for West and it's called Shouko. The main lyricist and composer are also responsible for another song from this single, which I also like, You ain't mine. Also worked with Ebi and SZ's Honey Honey, I think in that post I named a lot of songs, although there I think it was only lyrics, here it's both. The second person, 栗原暁(Jazzin'park) has also worked with NEWS and Kisumai in recent songs such as Perfect Lover from STORY and Hands UP from To-y2, actually it's also a single. Okay, I do want to say that it's not like I totally don't know them, I think I can name all 7 of them, lol, ame nochi hare was the first song I liked from them, I think. And I've seen them around a lot, I know Non-chan from many doramas, also Shige-chan, I love his acting almost as much as his smile. I've also watched Switched so I also know about Kami-chan, I really like his voice. Also, the nadegata guy...that's Hama-chan, right? lol, I knew Akito, Ryusei, and Junta from that time they all came to VS Arashi, also I think I watched Ryusei's acting, I'm not sure. Either way, I kind of know them...lol, and even though I'm not that familiar with their voices, which is similar to Kinpuri for me (for Kinpuri I'm always annoyed by not knowing who's singing which part) in the case of WEST their voices actually sound more familiar, I like 3 of them for sure, and even though I haven't heard much from them, or almost nothing, this single is really good!
Okay, notes later, I have to go~ I'm back to finish this, but, tbh I don't have many notes on this, just a few...I think that if I've watched the dorama maybe I'd get this song lyrics better...
- there are few parts with a little of Kansai ben and it's always hard to do those for me~
- I think the main point of this song is to tell the listener that 'you're not alone', like don't walk along this road alone, you have someone to make this walk easier
- I especially like the ideas of 'success is not everything in life' and 'you'll get tired of aiming for perfection' that's quite interesting for a song
- the part with 何が悪いの was hard,...' what's wrong with that?' that's also interesting, the concept, like we don't know what we're doing, we're just trying our best, and that should be enough
I think I liked the positive vibes on this song and the overall feeling of not being along, which is what they say by the end of the "happy live with you", and also "when you're down, look at WEST!"
So, I like encouraging songs, and lately WEST has been increasing in popularity and I'm okay with that especially if that means this kind of great songs :D And again, I'm sorry if I can't show how much encouraging I find the lyrics of this song in the translation!
