First of all, I chose to watch this because of the main cast, and it turned out to be a very cute story. About the subs, sorry for any mistake and enjoy :D

Notes Ep1
I like cute love stories and I also like basketball, so this just seemed the right choice, then I noticed how this mini dorama seems to be intended to promote basketball, which doesn't seems to be a so much popular sport in Japan, but is gaining momentum. So, in each of the episodes, there's little information, at the beginning, about basketball and how this sport has been developing in their country.

First, Taisuke's character mentions this player, "Yuta Tabuse is a Japanese professional basketball player. A point guard, Tabuse is 1.75 metres (5 ft 9 in) and 75 kilograms (165 lb). He is currently with Link Tochigi Brex of the Japan Basketball League.
Tabuse has enjoyed popularity in Japan since his high school playing days, when he led his school to three straight national championships, and has been referred to as "the Michael Jordan of Japan" for his celebrity status.
Michael Cooper, former NBA player and Tabuse's coach with the Albuquerque Thunderbirds, said of him, "He automatically changes the game because of his quickness and distributing the ball.."" (Source)

JBL: "The Japan Basketball League (JBL) was a professional basketball league in Japan. It made up the top-tier of basketball in Japan alongside the bj league, Japan's other basketball competition, with no promotion and relegation between bj and the JBL.
The JBL was composed of two divisions, the JBL (Division 1, formerly Super League) and the JBL2 (Division 2, formerly Japan League)." (Source)

Inter high school Championship: "The Interhigh championship is a high school basketball tournament in Japan. It is hosted every year to decide the best highschool basketball team. Each team must first become one of the three best of their region before advancing to the actual IH, where they compete against teams from other regions." (Source)

"OB" and "OG" mean "Old boy" and "Old girl" respectively. "Old boy/girl" means an alumnus of something, or a previous member -- usually in reference to a school or club. (Source)

And last but not least, Tsuchiya, Taisuke's character, starts this episode narrating some episode when Lebron James won the MVP, but even though I searched for it, I couldn't find his exact words in English, so, I'm not sure about what he said. I'm not a big fan of Lebron James, so I don't have any memories of him saying that. Sorry.

Notes Ep2

B.League "The B.League is a men's professional basketball league that commenced in Japan in September 2016. The league is operated by the Japan Professional Basketball League and was formed as a result of a merger between the National Basketball League that was operated by the FIBA-affiliated Japan Basketball Association and the independently operated bj league. The merger had been mandated by FIBA as a condition to Japan having its membership resumed following suspension in November 2014."" (Source)

About the player who scored a lot of points: "On November 20, 2012, in a 179-104 win over National Christian College Athletic Association-member Faith Baptist Bible College, Taylor scored 138 points, setting the NCAA record for most points by an individual player in a game. He played 36 minutes and shot 52-of-108 from the field, 27-of-71 from 3-point range, and 7-of-10 from the free throw line... Taylor scored 58 points in the first half and 80 in the second; .. His 80 points in a half were also a record." (Source)

BJ league: "The bj league (also referred to as the Basketball Japan League) was a professional basketball league in Japan that began in November 2005 as a six-team league. The league was operated as a competitor to the established Japan Super League which was run by the Japan Basketball Association, the official governing body of basketball in Japan. Over the next ten years the league saw continual expansion, with at least one new team joining every season, reaching 24 teams divided into two conferences in its final season in 2015-16. " (Source)

And last and maybe unimportant, but I had it on my notes, it's 社会人. When Takamatsu, the one who is good at the game, says his college team is not as good as a professional team, he compares it with a baseball tournament between non-professional teams sponsored by corporations, basically, a non professional team.
Another tiny detail, the book is the same in episode 1, Emma by Jane Austen, but this time is volume 2. So, in episode 1, even though I didn't put it on the subs, it's volume 1.

Notes Ep3

About the school mentioned at the beginning "Noshiro Technical High School is a high school located in Noshiro, Akita, Japan. It was established in 1912. Noshiro Tech is best known for theirbasketball and won Japanese high school championship 58 times."" (Source)

Finally, food: "Karaage, is a Japanese cooking technique in which various foods - most often chicken, but also other meat and fish - are deep fried in oil. The process involves optional marinating small pieces of the food in a sauce, then lightly coating it with a seasoned wheat flour or potato starch mix, and frying in a light oil. It is similar in technique to the preparation of tempura." (Source)

I'll put these together, now, when Tsuchiya answers what he thinks about this place: "
Fukuoka is the capital city of Fukuoka Prefecture and is situated on the northern shore of the island of Kyushu in Japan. It is the most populous city on the island, followed by Kitakyushu. It is the largest city and metropolitan area west of Keihanshin. The city was designated on April 1, 1972, by government ordinance. Greater Fukuoka, with 2.5 million people (2005 census), is part of the heavily industrialized Fukuoka-Kitakyushu zone as well as Northern Kyushu." (Source)

Fukuoka Softbank Hawks A baseball team, baseball is super popular in Japan.

Manzai is a traditional style of stand-up comedy in Japanese culture. Manzai usually involves two performers (manzaishi)-a straight man (tsukkomi) and a funny man (boke)-trading jokes at great speed. Most of the jokes revolve around mutual misunderstandings, double-talk, puns and other verbal gags. (Source)

Mentaiko , is the marinated roe of pollock and cod, and it is a common ingredient in Japanese cuisine and Korean cuisine. Mentaiko originated from Korea, and was introduced to Japan afterWorld War II.
Mentaiko is made in a variety of flavors and colors and is available at airports and main train stations. It is usually eaten with onigiri, but is also enjoyed by itself with sake. A common variety is spicy mentaiko. It is a product of the Hakata ward of Fukuoka City.(Source)

And that was it, this mini dorama was cute and I liked a lot the views, the landscapes were really beautiful, the bits of basketball were credible and Taisuke and Mizuki made a really sweet couple, let's say. He plays a really bad player who happens to really love the game, so I think it's relatable. I really had fun with this, so I hope you too enjoy this <3 *And Taisuke looks so good *
