Chuck and the Family

I still let my children watch it, this season and all. Mind, they see it after the fact, but that's only because their bedtimes are 7pm (for the 4 year old) and 7:30pm (for the almost 9 year old), and we're on the east coast so Chuck is an 8pm show.

I don't feel the show itself if really that much darker or more risque than the previous seasons. The entire cast is still struggling with the moral issues and choices, consequences and life changing events.

My children handle it just fine, and I appreciate all the things the show has done that has provided a springboard for some fantastic discussions with my kids. We've had discussions on "what's right isn't always easy", on morals, on all actions having consequences, on families and differences, on loyalty, on love, on relationships, on sex, on guns and violence, on work ethic even! Things I can demonstrate to an extent, sure, but also things that my kids never thought to ask about until they saw it on Chuck.

Not all children and families are set up like mine, however, and so not all families will decide Chuck is appropriate viewing material. That's fine. We each do what works best for our own families. I just don't, personally, think the show is any less family friendly than it was last season or the season before.
