a day off at the dentists; Kay's better

Aug 29, 2013 09:41

i finally get another day off during the week, and what do i do with it?  arrange for a dentist appointment and stay home to work on ALT stuff... ^_^;;  hubs asked me if i wanted to go on a day trip or something and my response was "where to?"  :P  sigh, what can i say?  i'm just THAT boring... either that or i'm just that lazy.... ^_^;;

so in a minute, i'm gonna have to head on out to the dentist, but in the meantime, i wanted to update that Kay is getting better.  it got to the point where on the second trip to the doctor (after a 5 day fever), he'd said that she was on the brink of pneumonia if things got any worse.  thankfully, he gave her some different meds and cough syrup which all kicked in that Tuesday night.  all three of us were able to sleep soundly for over 6 hours, a feat that was virtually impossible since last Friday.  :P  hubs is already a light sleeper and i've actually turned into a light sleeper with my mommy senses on high alert at night.  that, plus Kay's continuous hacking (what she does is not "cough") up her lungs at night made for some really tired peeps in the morning... ~_~;;  so, we were all relieved that Kay was finally able to get some decent sleep!  although, she sweat up a storm that Tuesday night as her fever broke and the futon sheets were soaked ^_^;;

on Wednesday, she went back to school albeit still with a hacking cough.  if it were up to me, i'd keep her home this entire week until her cough was over and done with, but with Kay's Sport's Day (undoukai) coming up in mid-September, we wanted her at hoikuen to practice as much as she can.  the teachers there are great and know that she's not the strongest out of the bunch of kids, so they don't push her to do anything she can't do.  honestly, H-sensei and Y-sensei are totally awesome. :)

however, she came back home last night totally drained, had a blow up at daddy over something silly, and while she started out sleeping like a baby, just like clockwork, she starts hacking up her lungs again around 2:30-3:00 AM... i think hubs and i both were praying that she didn't have another fever the next morning, which she fortunately didn't.

did we keep her home today because i had the day off?

i'm afraid not, even if the mommy side of me wanted her to stay home and spend some time with her, but hubs and i decided that she really needed to catch up to her peers for the undoukai, because she had missed school almost all of August while the other kids were busy practicing the whole time.  there's some sort of "Silk Dance" that they have to practice, and we're both worried that if she doesn't practice enough, she'll be the only kid there who won't know the steps, and that can't be good for anybody ^_^;;

whelp, i'm off to the dentist!

dentist, kay, undoukai, hospital, hoikuen
