rabbit rabbit!; training monkeys; watching "19 Kids and Counting"

well, the start of my 31st year on this Earth hasn't been that bad. i did have a bit of a meltdown on Thursday when the stress of not having hubs around kinda got to me, but quickly recovered after a good cry. logically, i don't see the big deal of not having hubs here since i can handle mostly everything. i just have to manage my time more wisely. yet on the other hand, i get in slumps here and there, because i come back home to an empty place with only Kay as company and no one there to really "talk" to about my day. those are tough when you've had a rough one :/ sure, hubs and i skype every night, but it's not the same when you want a hug or a cuddle or whatnot. anyway, things will go back to normal after the end of the month when hubs comes back :) man i'm so happy about that! :D

this week went by in a blur. granted i was still a little sick, i'm getting better and i'm not coughing as much anymore. my voice is almost back to its original volume, so watch out kiddies! XD after my Saturday classes ended, i was actually a bit more tired than usual. i think it was my last class of kids that kinda drained me a bit. there were three extra trials that day, and they came at the last minute, so i had to scramble a bit to accommodate them in my lesson plans for the original 3 kids. it didn't help that two of the trials were friends with some of the hyper kids in class, so the class kinda looked like i was training monkeys that were running, screaming and climbing around ^_^;; sigh... but compared to another class of kids i had that acted like deer in headlights for a whole 45 min, you gotta love those monkeys :P

hubs wanted me to wait until he gets back to get some pizza, but i couldn't wait that long to have my pizza, so i went ahead this weekend and took advantage of the Domino's Buy 1 Get 1 Free deal that they have until the 17th. it's only for take-out, so i had to wait about 20 min outside the Domino's near our place for the two pizzas i ordered. i was kinda kicking myself for not ordering over the phone ahead of time, but i was on my way home from my Saturday classes and the Domino's is on the way. i think next time, i'll stick with Cooc Pizza, because their wait time is 10 min. :P

for those who don't live in Japan, almost all pizza places have a flavor that involves mashed/sliced/chopped/etc. potatoes on pizza as the main topping. before coming here, i'd thought that having potatoes and pizza together would be like eating bread with rice...that kind of weird combination. although funnily enough, it's SUCH AN AWESOME COMBO!! there's just something about potatoes combined with the cheese and tomato sauce on the dough that makes it all work. :D i totally recommend you try it!! :D

for me, pizza can't be without a nice movie to watch while eating it. :) this week, we rented Astro Boy and another Pokemon movie. :) i remember wanting to see this in the movie theaters when it came out in 2009, but after watching it yesterday, i'm kind of glad that i didn't. :/ it was nice, but it didn't seem to have a lot of meat to the story. kinda wished it was like half an hour longer to put more stuff in, ykwim? so, it was nice but not totally great :P

another thing i've been watching lately are episodes fro TLC's 19 Kids and Counting. i'm so slow when it comes to these things ^_^; i think i just like the series, because it's just a really positive show where you see good people being good examples of how people or a family should act, ya know? i mean, with shows like Jon and Kate Plus 8 where now it's just "Kate Plus 8", "Toddlers and Tiaras", or even the "Jersey Shore", you kinda want something a little wholesome for your heart... ya know? :P that and also, i just really like the values that the family has.

being a mom with only one kid to manage, i'm not the best of moms when it comes to raising Kay. :/ i've been outright lazy lately in the parenting department where i just use the TV to get Kay out of my hair for a little bit, so i can have some quiet time to myself. ~_~;; now, Kay's slowly turning into the little version of me when i was growing up with watching a ton of TV more than doing anything else. you know something's wrong when you have to make your kid to do something else to pull them away from the TV, and that doesn't mean that they don't go without a fight either. :/ sigh... wonder if i was like that when i was little...

so, it's come to that time in a mom's life to reassess her parenting tactics...again... :P
