rabbit rabbit and hubs birthday
the beginning of March is chocked full of my friends' birthdays, and i've also got hubs birthday too :) yea, i sure have a lot of Pieces swimming around me ^_^;
last week, i was planning on getting him something from Uniqulo, but nothing popped out at me, and i wasn't going to get him some generic present. so, i went to browse Muji in hopes of finding something a bit more practical. i didn't really have anything in mind except to get him something he needed. i went down isle after isle, display after display until i got to the home interior section. a light bulb went off in my head and i remembered that he's been wanting a seat cushion for his work chair. he's been using his sleeping pillow propped up on his chair so that he get some support of his back, but it hasn't been as comfy lately. it didn't take me long to find the seat cushions, and there was one that was 30% off and the same color as the back of his seat! i snagged that immediately, and then as i was heading to the register, i went by the cookware section, and spotted a wooden spatula and another light bulb lit up. he's also been wanting one of those since the last two that we bought from Daiso ended up getting moldy after a couple of weeks (they didn't have a protective coating over the wood). i got everything for around 1300 yen, and i knew that he'd be happy with that. he's very frugal, and always compares the price to the product.
originally, i wanted to surprise him on his birthday, but i thought these were things he could start using come Monday. so that night, i told Kay to give him his presents, and he was really happy with the gifts ^_^ he even laughed when he saw the wooden spatula! XD so far, he likes the cushion and he's already used the spatula to make his oh so yummy curry (Kay: "I only like daddy's curry, not mommy's!") and Tonjiru, so i think it's safe to say that i did well this year for his birthday ^_^
today is his actual birthday. my sister and his friends have all wished him a happy birthday, and i plan on getting some different cake slices from a nearby cake shop near where i work. either that or get some donuts :) we'll see.
March seems to be starting off on a good note :D hopefully, it'll stay this way ^_^
