record 8 hours without a nap...

i dunno what i ate or drank to let her stay up all day today... x_x maybe it's from all that sleep she got last night after zonking out early at 8:00... she woke up this morning at 8:30 and stayed wide awake all the way til 4:30-ish. if it wasn't for the small walk i took her on, she probably wouldn't have napped at all. goodness, talk about tiring. just want to say that i totally sympathize with theelusivemolly whose little girl doesn't sleep well either...

hopefully, she'll revert back to her old napping/bedtime schedule. she's been teething (she's getting her molars!!:D) lately and also developing a longer attention span (ie: able to watch a full 30 min kids' show instead of losing interest after 15 min.), so those could also be why she's not napping today.. i dunno...

oh a side note, she discovered how wonderful it is to eat ice. i gave her an ice cube today to see if it would help with her gums, and she absolutely loved it! i was surprised that she could handle that kind of cold, but she's been surprising me a lot lately... like she got a hold of my harry potter and the deathly hallows book today and managed to eat off half of the title page... guess she thought that the crest of hogwarts was yummy lookin'. ^_^;;

anyway, i'm wondering now where to take her this weekend, because i don't want to take her to the library anymore. we just saw a piece of news saying that Taiwan's "enterovirus" (腸病毒) problem is at a record high this month with 174 diagnosed cases and 5 deaths already. they showed this poor little baby with tubes stuck all in her arms and nose and twitching, which is apparently one of the symptoms of getting infected according to the news clip. i honestly don't know if the translation is correct and still don't really understand what enteroviruses are (even with Wiki's help...), but if a baby can die from them, i'll just put it on my things-to-worry-about list... ~_~;; i do know that it's very common here and it gets passed around because of kids touching things that came in contact with an infected person. so that rules out most public places... sigh.. maybe we should just stay at home for the whole summer... ~_~;;; sigh... maybe i'm just over thinking things a bit... i hate how being a mom makes your imagination go wild, which in turn makes you worry ten times more than you used to... :P

Saito-san, being the sweetheart he is, showed me "how to take care of your baby", which left me lightheaded from how hard i was laughing. ^_^ i felt better after that.

kay, enterovirus, sleep
