I got a tiny, tiny, tiny promotion at 2nd City. Some nights (Saturdays mostly) I'm selling merchandise now, so I get extra money from commission. My improv class is going well and my current classmates are very social. Tonight we're all going to see a movie (Thank you for Smoking)and going to see an improv show (TJ & Dave). Somehow I've ended up being a sort of social co-organizer along with this girl Cheryl from class. Honestly I don't know how that happened. I think it's just because I work at Second City and so people started coming with me to see the Second City improv sets after class on Sundays and then somehow that evolved into me being the go-to girl for class outings.
Happy coming-up-soon birthday to Susan.
My teaching interview went really well. I don't have official word yet, but I don't know how I couldn't have gotten into the program. Now I just have to worry about that pesky certification testing.
To everyone who visited me recently, Mom, Seth, Elizabeth, Cage, Dan-Dan, Mako, I loved seeing you all and had mucho fun. Please come see me again!!!
banana envy Oh, and yesterday I bought curtains. Pretty green flower ones for the living room. But shh, don't tell my roommate. It's gonna be a surprise. Rachel if you read this...uh that was someone else typing and I did NOT buy pretty new green curtains with a "floral burnout" design.
And now for the big news...
My mom called this morning to tell me she's getting married (or hitched as we say in Arkansas. :)) She and Seth are going to stop in Virginia (on their way to New York to visit Seth's grand daughter) and get married. When asked why Virginia my mom would only reply "because Virginia is for lovers!" So in a few months I'll have a Step-father, step-sister and uh step-nephew?? hip hip, hoo-rah. I only hope that they don't interfere with my going to the ball.
