Going to Makati is like risking a slap in the face -- at least when you’re looking for a job. The problem is you’ll never know when it’ll hit you...
To tell you the truth, I will admit that the competition is stiff and if you think you’re the only one applying because you graduated late, think again. There are a lot of unemployed people out there who just wait for the right opportunity to come in and you’ll be surprised to know that they’re gunning out for the same job you’re getting in to. To some of you, this is pretty obvious already. But I realized that only now.
The preliminary test they gave me awhile ago was no stranger to me. It’s still a time limit test to see how fast and accurate your thinking skills are. I will admit that I’m not really used to that kind of challenge as I get things done a bit slower...but I get it done, nevertheless. Sometimes, I wonder if there’s a perfect job for me out there that requires none of this stuff...but that would be wishful thinking. I’m beginning to sound like a dumb guy just thinking about it, but then I figured maybe I just haven’t found the right job for me -- at least, not yet.
How well I did in the test earlier doesn’t matter anymore. All I know is that it might just be another slap in the face. I have to condition my mind that it is, so I won’t end up sulking in the corner and keep on fighting until I get one for good.
Who knows? Maybe one of these days, this losing streak will end...
