Someone left a pile of socks behind one of the couches in the Slytherin common room. I'm sure that everyone will appreciate it if the owner would pick them up and put it somewhere else. Besides the fact that the colours are horrendous, you are also causing a mess in the common room. Thank you ( Read more... )

I don't know whom the socks might belong to, but one of the girls in the dorm had a spare shoebox, and they're put away at least. If anyone is looking for them, they're in a white box in the corner underneath one of the torches.

Er, aside from that and the fifth year (sorry, I can't help on that-- have never taken COMC), are you all right?

At least they're out of sight. What kind of person would want to wear that many socks in the first place?

Yes, I am. That's a rather sudden question.

I'm really not sure. I don't believe they belong to any of the girls in my dorm, but I don't know about anyone else.

Well, you mentioned the weather. It is a bit chilly, I suppose. You aren't getting sick, are you?

I'd suggest that we auction them off just in case the owner doesn't want them, but I doubt anyone else would want them.

Apparently I did. The weather has always been a hazard, but I'll be fine.

Well, it's still a possibility that someone will pick them up soon, hopefully.

All right. Well, take care, and good luck with all the stuff you have to do.

Or you can keep them yourself.

I think I'll need that.

No, thank you. I really don't think that would be necessary.

Anytime. And for the record, I think you'll probably stay alive.

Very well. I'll just pass it to one of the Prefects.

Are you certain of that?

I would hope so. At least you were given warning, of a fashion, of potential disasters upon your livelihood. You've some knowledge beforehand, so you can be prepared.

In all seriousness, yes, because you're probably not going to do anything foolish.

Valid points. This makes me believe that the probability of my upcoming demise is lessened to 10%.

Perhaps with the judicious use of wards, the risk may be eliminated altogether.

Perhaps, or I should be in the library more. I doubt it's a place to end a person's life, unless a bookshelf falls on me.

You'll have to stay away from any wobbly-looking ones. If I am in the library at the same time and notice that you are in imminent danger, I'll warn you to carefully step away.

So the possibility of me dying there will either decrease or increase depending on your presence. Hmm. On the other hand, we should also consider the chairs. If one of them breaks while I am sitting, that could very well make me hit my head on the floor, causing a lot of damage.

I would hope that my presence would not cause for the chances of you dying to increase. I'd really rather not be responsible for that. You'll just have to avoid rickety-looking chairs as well, hmm?

Any attempt would be in vain, I think, considering that freak accidents can happen.
