LiveJournal comment spam is getting ridiculous, and the CAPTCHA option in our settings does nothing to stop it.

We have to deal with spam on Appropedia, but we don't let it get out of control like this. We use the spam url blacklist from Wikimedia sites, and we have the option of restricting posts containing urls, e.g. by anonymous and new users. ( Read more... )

Appropedia now has an active community page on LiveJournal - join or watch us there, and check the updates - often snippets of content from Appropedia, for your interest, and application, and for sharing. You can post there as well.

Here in the highlands of Guatemala, I can't read LiveJournal. I can Skype to phones in Australia (though California was patchier), I can surf most pages okay, and I can post to LiveJournal, using my Post an Entry bookmart. I just can't load anyone's LJ page. Edit: 20 min later, and suddenly I can read LJ. (Shrug.)
