Tackle at home plate!
Friday, June 9 -- I zigzagged through traffic and headed to the Twin Cities. Great NIW show in Crystal. Darin Corbin and Prophet had an excellent singles match, and they should be proud of their match. Horace and Kid Krazy are awesome, and their main event tag match was quite good. When Arik Cannon vs. Cody O'Neill is THIRD BEST... well, you know you've seen a stacked show!
Ken Baier joined me for the show. Ken is my slightly developmentally disabled friend I've know for more than 10 years now, and he records all the PPVs, and we trade tapes every other weekend or so. Joe also attended the show, and that was great fun, too.
After party at Buffalo Wild Wings... where we waited forever for our food. Ryan Cruz, Darin Corbin, Rob Page and Ben Sailer, along with me, Ken & Becca. A small group, but a really good time!
Saturday, June 10 -- It was a bit rainy and a bit cold. But, Joe & I ventured to the St. Paul Saints game, and I'm so glad we did. While it was overcast the whole time, it never rained, and we grilled brats, drank some beers, and had a great time! I went back to Joe's house after the game (Saints lost 2-0), and we watched some wrestling and the Twins game on tape.
Sunday, June 11 -- I headed to the Twins game, and met up with Joe and my Dad. (Yes, I did something with Joe every day of the weekend!) Twins won 4-0, as Liriano only gave up 1 hit over seven innings! YESSSS! My Twins record improved to 7-1.
Wednesday, June 14 -- I return to the Metrodome! Me and three co-workers -- Alyssa, Mary and Troy -- drove into Minneapolis and watched the Twins win 8-1, as Justin Morneau hit a grand slam, Brad Radke pitched perhaps his best game of the season, and we had a blast.
But what will be remembered about this game is that in the top of the eighth inning, two fans ran on the field. I can't recall this ever happenening in the hundreds of games I attended. So, one fan runs to third, heads toward home, and he dove onto home plate, and the crowd cheered! However, as he stood up, a batboy just CREAMED the fan with a GORE! GORE! GORE! Rhino would have been proud. The fan was taken away in handcuffs.
So, I'm a bit tired at work today, but the trip was a blast, and we're looking at doing it again before the season is over.
This weekend, I'll head to the Twin Cities late Friday, and I'll pick up Kid Krazy & Nate Bash Saturday morning, and we'll head to 3XW in Iowa. Jerry Lynn will be wrestling. The directions look really easy.
Coming weeks include ROH in Chicago Ridge, Mercury 1 Wrestling in Green Bay, and the triple-shot of shows in NIW! I'm truly blessed with my life right now.
