Throwback Thursday, Warhammer-style

Assembled and based some Judge Dredd models, then took a trip down memory lane with these ancient Rogue Trader figures. Most of them date from 1987 or so. I even have loads of some Zoats and even some metal Rogue Trader Space Marines from when GW reissued those figures very briefly in the 2000s. Not pictured are some gretchin assistants, a grot with a blunderbuss from Space Crusade. and just a basic Gretchin with autogun from the 40K2 box set. This stuff sells for crazy money on ebay, but i plan on using all these ancient Ork models to add extra classic detail to my Ork Stompa.

Tyranids were weird back then. They were barely an army, and more like alien NPCs. They even wore clothing made from animal hides and would store spare tools in their pockets. Nothing like what they would later become. Rogue Trader was weird back then, Space Marines were just thuggish mercenaries in power armor, the books were littered with weird references to things like carnivorous sand clams and flying ptera-squirrels, and who could forget the infamous Inquisitor Obi-wan Sherlock Clouseau?
