The Art of Life

Its Monday. I've finished last nights pasta and about to go help move despite my legs still feeling like they are made of jello lead. I think I dented the bed again from sleeping so hard and I'm shocked that my good dress actually got hung up rather than just tossed onto the laundry pile. Regardless, this is the events leading up to my current disarray.

Wednesday and Thursday I spent running errands to get everything ready for two big events: The Green Corn Moon Art Show and Kelli/Alex wedding. I had to get some last minute supplies for the wedding and get the prints done for the art show and some stuff matted and framed. And pick up the art work from my folk's place. Dad canceled poker on Wednesday due to him having a full week and all. I got to see Skokies and Kelli before they went to Auburn. Thursday, though, I headed out to Vestavia to grab painting. I picked up my jury duty summons as well. Mom and I decided to get some dinner together while dad was at his other poker game. We went to the Cajun steamer for coconut shrimp and beers. I then realized we were right at the Galleria, so I saved myself a trip and got the engraved spatula for the wedding (ah, I love whimsical traditions). I'd asked my mom what I should wear to an art show, and she kidnapped me to get new clothes while we waited on the engraving. I got a pair of pants and several shirts that are really cute. Then back to the house to pack up art work, running way too late to get my work into the shop.

So, Friday I scrambled to get the art work up to the show and set up, sign all the print, label all the art, get the stuff from my dad, help a little. Then rush home, get a shower, fall asleep, only to wake up late, grab the last few things I needed and race back to the shop for the show. It was amazing. People just kept coming. My parents, my aunt Reese, my sister and brother-in-law all came! Plus friends and friends and friends. Everyone loved the art and the house too. This guy, Tony, was coming to the shop to get a wand for his daughter's birthday (she's a big Harry Potter fan) and ended up at the show. He and I talked alot about art and his 9 year older girl who is shying away from art. He bought some art for her and his wife, hopefully to inspire the little girl to paint some more. I really hope ti hear from him. Overall, I sold art, drank beer, and talked until after midnight. Corey helped me get some art into my car and I went home... and couldn't sleep I was still so wired.

But I woke up late Saturday, got to the shop late, and got the rest of my art packed up. Jaime was running late too, so I called Jonsey and we got into a bit of a spat. I love my friends, especially my Jonsey, since we can have a spat and make up in less than 12 hours usually. Never wanna stay mad at him. I mean, we'd spent all Monday night together, talking about everything. Not much can really get in our way. heh.

Anyways, we got the art work up. Greer didn't get her ...er... I think its art up, so Kelli and I hauled it up stairs. We got alot of stuff decorated and set up. Then I hurried to the markets to get stuff for Feta Bruchetta. Then home to prep the food, grab a shower, and get dressed. Then race BACK to the shop, bake the feta, get the last of everything set up... and running late of course. Glas didn't show up until around 6, instead of 5:30, but Kelli wasn't even completely ready until after 6 (her sister was doing her hair in the buffet room?) and guests were already showing up. Cullen got roped into bar tending (much love to him) and dancing in the kitchen with his girlie. Everyone was helping and partying at the same time. We got the ceremony off on time at least and Mitch did wonderfully despite his worry (starting off with a bit from Princess Bride). There was cake and dancing and toasts and gifts and drinks and food and lots of fun. Amy, Kelli's sister and the girl who dipped all the lovely chocolate strawberries next to the carrot cake wedding cake, caught the last minute bouquet, but gave it to Ry-Ry when her mom told her no. Alex's grandmother had a brief mock wedding to Jonsey. Johnny conned his way into a second piece of cake after exploring the big house. We had an epic singing of Bohemian Rhapsody complete with head banging and air guitar. And it was all great. We stumbled home around midnight once the family and friends were gone.

Sunday game and pasta.

Now, you know.
