The Full Moon Don't mean a Thing!

I was sick on Thursday. Top it off, dentist told me I have a small cavity that I need to get filled in about 4 weeks. Grrr. So I spent Thursday in bed.

Thursday night was a proverbial Full Moon. While crashing on the couch, Tanner came by for some video games unannounced. Which was fine by me ‘cause I needed some company. While we were gaming, this guy came to my door, lost, trying to find his uncle I think, or his dad. Anyways, didn’t know, so went back to games. A bit later, we see cop lights outside. I poke my head out to see an ambulance and fire truck outside and the guy from before on his cell phone, pacing up and down the sidewalk.

So, Tanner and I finish up games and he heads home. I go to the back to check my e-mail and play with the cats when I hear this loud crash noise. I thought maybe someone was breaking into a car out back so I check. About that time, I hear some guy screaming “You fat bitch, you bitch!” and see that the crashing is from a window being busted out from the inside in the building behind ours. I call the police right away. The apartment there gets quiet, but the cops show up just a couple minutes later. While they are going in, all “This is the Police” with guns ready, my next door neighbor comes out. We chat since she can’t get her car out, blocked by the cops at the moment. She tells me that it was a weird night. Apparently, an old guy down at the other end of our building had died. I guess the guy who was lost was checking to see why he wasn’t answering his phone. The guy had died like a day or two before and no one knew. She’d seen him having trouble trying to get up the stairs, but said he was fine. Eventually, the cops left and left a car in front of the busted apartment, but I didn’t hear anything the rest of the night. I called Cullen and chatted with him for a bit to calm my nerves, but turned to Angel instead until I passed out.

Friday I had lunch at SPR again with Patrick and Patricia. I spent the day doing art stuff and hanging with Patricia. We then planned on burritos and Dollar theater Beowulf, but ran late. So we ended up at Pat’s place and played Curses. Its official, that game is the best thing evar. Kelli, Allison, and Courtland joined us and we played and talked Roller Derby the rest of the night.

Saturday was BUSY. We had the psychic fair. Thanks for all those that came out to join us. I was so tired by the time 5:30 rolled around that if I even looked at watercolor, I’d have puked. But it was packed and successful. We really should do them more often so that we can temper the crowds better. I still have three more paintings to do! Wow. Every booth was busy too. I had to scarf down a sammich between two clients. Then Kelli and I raced over to Empire for KOE. The game was great, Tanner and I’s characters nearly had a throw down, I got to NPC the big bad guy, and spent most of the night under the guise of a minko waitress in a demon owned restaurant. Afterwards, AL’s, talks about Zombie Red Shirts, and internet cartoons.

Sunday finally was lunch with my parents at Cheesecake Factory. I grabbed a couple more volumes of Deathnote too. Wow, that manga is addictive and really good! I have to pace myself since I can’t get volume 6 until sometime next week. Then to BB&C for the Buffy game. That had to be THE BEST session we have ever had. Confused Concubines, wardrobes changes, and whirling blender of death with fox ears. Woot. Afterwards, the Ryans and I had dinner at SPR and then watched the Dragonlance movie at my place. Its pretty classic animation (think He-man) with some random CG thrown in. It stays pretty true to the book, just omitting certain things (like Tanis getting the sword from the dead king) and some of the details (like the betrayal at Pax Tharkas). Otherwise, pretty straightforward, old school style story. Nostalgic for you ol’ gamers. Both Ryans were sound asleep by the time it was over.

Coming Up: Busy week at work, more painting, Ravenloft this weekend (hopefully at Patrick and Patricia’s). I need to get back on track with the Fantasy Larp, need to look at prices on a trip to Europe (perhaps next year) and work on some grad school stuffs.

Meaningful Phrase: But… Cakes and Tea!!
