The complete insanity of Spring

Apr 02, 2010 07:52

Well, this weekend is busy, with Easter, etc... We ony have off on Friday, because the snow and other stuff has kept us out of school already, so they chopped our Spring Break. But next weekend and the following week are just dog-gone nuts.

*My 20 year HS reunion. Yeah, I'm old, I know.

*Opening Day for Boy's Baseball.

*A reading at the Library of Congress - yes, I will be traveling to DC on April 12 and reading from one of my books, along with other members of Broad Universe: jmward , damcphail , and Sarah Avery. If you're in the area, come on down. Reading starts at noon, but I'm not sure what room we'll be in. Look for the pretty posters with all our pictures on it once you get there. I guess I should decide soon what I'm going to read.

*Boy's baseball games

*Boy's school Art Show.

*Appearance at a local author's event for National Library Week (April 14).

That's just in a single week, never mind the rest of the month. Fortunately I've nearly completed all my school projects and I'm still ahead on the readings, so I just need to make it through until May 1. Then I can have the summer off and finish the WIP, start the next one.

I still don't know what's going to happen with the schools and the budgets - the governor seems to be into blackmail these days. So we'll wait and see. It might not end up as bad as originally thought, but it could wind up worse. Overall I'm feeling all right about it, since there's absolutely nothing I can do to change it. We'll just have to wait and see.

The township's in a similar boat, but it's not as bad. Hubby's probably going to wind up taking furlough days at work, but it's better than him losing his job. I would go and find a more steady job myself, but what's out there right now? So again, have to wait and see. For now, just going to keep on keeping on.
