Sparkling in the sky
Some twinkled, Sounded
Like a sigh in the night
And there was light
Which made it all surreal
You made it sparkle
You made me feel

But I've yet to know what- why- who for
You had a spasm in sight
Perhaps you saw a little light
While I smiled
Which is a spasm of the heart
I guess a sparkle rubbed off

But then you winced
And smirked a snarky shine
And everything shimmered back
Into blinks, and the occasional
Scratch on the nose
Into real
Into plain day
But my smile might stay

Your wink was an eclipse.
