Day 01. Favorite Austen heroine.

My favorite Austen heroine is Elinor Dashwood from Sense and Sensibility. I know you're all shocked, but it's actually not Lizzy Bennet! I find Elinor very relatable: she's practical, sensible, and very down-to-earth. She always listens to her head rather than her heart, which is something I have in common with her. I also like her because she is incredibly strong, but she doesn't make a big deal out of it. She essentially takes charge of the household when her father dies, caring for her sometimes-unreasonable mother and sisters. She deals with an extremely harsh disappointment without complaining, but she's not a doormat. And in the end, of course, she gets her man!
