Upcoming Baby Beauty Pageant; New car seat!

Nov 13, 2003 09:15

This week has been good so far. My mother-in-law spent two nights and was here Monday-Wednesday. Monday we went out to eat with her at Shiloh’s but my mom wasn’t able to go. We did a little shopping at Wal-Mart and I got some Christmas Pooh wrapping paper and some gift boxes. The MIL got Kylie a Gloworm -its face lights up and it plays lullabies. I used to have one when I was a baby.

Kylie has a new “big girl” car seat! Mom ended up dropping off Kylie’s new toddler car seat at our house while we were gone. It’s an Eddie Bauer car seat for 5-100 pounds so she can use it now, she just has to keep it rear facing till she is over 20 pounds (they prefer 35 pounds), and 1 year old. The car seat has a bottle/cup holder, a small pouch to store toys, arm rests, and head and side pillows. It is really nice and looks so comfy! If I lost about 5 pounds I could sit in it myself (according to the weight limit!) lol! I took a couple pictures of Kylie sitting in her car seat and of her playing in the box it came in- with her glowworm. I’ll try to put them up here next week.

Jerry, Kylie and I went shopping with the MIL in down town Corbin Tuesday. We saw this baby/kids formal wear store and I just HAD to see all the cute dresses they had! We ended up getting Kylie this very cute Christmas dress that is red velvet with white fluffy material around the arm cuffs, collar and skirt bottom. It came with white legging pants but I think I’ll put white tights on her since the skirt is long enough. Now I just need to get her some new dress shoes-I think she is almost grown out of her current dress shoes.

When we were leaving, the cashier handed us a Baby Beauty Pageant contest paper & form. I had so much fun with Kylie in her last pageant I got excited as soon as I saw it. The contest is split up into a “natural” competition and a “glitz” competition. I plan to put Kylie in the natural competition because she is too young for make-up and all that stuff. The contest is on December 7th, so she would be in the 0-11 month age division. The have different categories such as King/Queen, Prince/Princess, Best Christmas wear, Best Sleepwear, etc. I plan to put Kylie in the Christmas wear categories which totals $75. To add sleepwear would be another $25 so I don’t know about that one. I can’t wait till the pageant! It will be so much fun!

Yesterday I cooked a big dinner since I was in the cooking mood. Afterwards Jerry and I wrapped several of Kylie’s Christmas gifts and one for Brayan (our soon to be adopted nephew). Kylie saw a Santa the other day- it was a tall figure that moved around and sang. I can’t wait to take her to see a real talking and moving human Santa, you know- the kind they have sitting in the malls.

Kylie updates: She is getting teeth 5 & 6 in! Her fifth is starting to break through the gums and the sixth is close behind because you can see it through her gums. They are the 2 side teeth on the top gums- right beside the 2 top middle teeth. I noticed it while brushing her teeth yesterday. Kylie is saying simple phrases well. She has been saying “Hi Da-da” and “Bye Da-da” a lot. She never says it with “Ma-ma” but Jerry says that is because she is with me all day and he comes and goes. Yesterday she said the cutest thing when I was changing her diaper… “Ma-ma And Da-da” (except the ‘and’ sounded more like ‘an’ but still- it was so cute how she said our names together! ;) She is keeping me busy! She gets into everything! I love her so much!

Tomorrow Jerry, Kylie and I plan to do some more Christmas shopping. The rest of the weekend is yet to be planned. I hope you all have a great weekend! If you read all this THANK YOU! Please respond! Has anyone used the new lj phonepost as described in the news journal for paid users?
