June Marriage Promptathon: Week 3 - Storms

Jun 19, 2013 06:30

My apologies for this being a little late. Anyone following my journal knows why, though praise God, everything is okay now.

So, without further ado, here are the prompts for Week 3.

Marriage is not easy. Arguments, hardships, money problems, betrayal of some kind… There’s an almost endless list of things that can go wrong. Sometimes, those problems mean the end of the marriage. But, marriages can and do survive storms, and even come out stronger for them. The storms that marriages face…that’s what the theme will be for this week. :)

Written prompt:

“In every marriage more than a week old, there are grounds for divorce. The trick is to find, and continue to find, grounds for marriage.” -Robert Anderson, Solitaire & Double Solitaire

Bible verse prompt:

“To the married I give this command (not I, but the Lord): A wife must not separate from her husband. But if she does, she must remain unmarried or else be reconciled to her husband. And a husband must not divorce his wife.” -1 Corinthians 7:10-11

Song prompt:

“Praise You in this Storm,” by Casting Crowns.

I was sure by now
God You would have reached down
And wiped our tears away
Stepped in and saved the day
But once again, I say “Amen,” and it's still raining

As the thunder rolls
I barely hear Your whisper through the rain
“I'm with you.”
And as Your mercy falls
I raise my hands and praise the God who gives
And takes away
