Marriage Promptathon, Free-For All Prompt thread

Jun 01, 2013 04:55

Maybe you’ve looked at the marriage prompts posted for the week and you’re just not interested them. Or maybe you have a great idea for a prompt of your own.

If you’re in either on of those categories, hopefully, you’ll like this thread. Still need prompts? Look here. Want to post an idea? Comment here. :)

All prompts about marriage are welcome in this thread. Word prompts, written prompts, song prompts, Bible verse prompts, picture prompts...prompts of some type that I am forgetting, lol...if you have them, just add them to this post in a comment. You never know who it might inspire!

While I was working on the promptathon, I found so many great marriage prompt ideas that didn’t quite work with the themes for each week, or they were bumped off the list because of limited room. So, I’m including them here. :)

Written prompts:

More marriages might survive if the partners realized that sometimes the better comes after the worse. -Doug Larson

A happy marriage is the union of two good forgivers. -Ruth Bell Graham

A happy marriage is a long conversation which always seems too short. -Andre Maurois

Why does a woman work ten years to change a man's habits and then complain that he's not the man she married? -Barbra Streisand

Bible verse prompts

“A foolish child is a father’s ruin, and a quarrelsome wife is like the constant dripping of a leaky roof.” -Proverbs 19:13

“But if the unbeliever leaves, let it be so. The brother or the sister is not bound in such circumstances; God has called us to live in peace. How do you know, wife, whether you will save your husband? Or, how do you know, husband, whether you will save your wife?” -1 Corinthians 7:15-16

Song prompts

“For All We Know,” by the Carpenters.

Love, look at the two of us
Strangers in many ways
We've got a lifetime to share
So much to say and as we go from day to day
I'll feel you close to me
But time alone will tell
Let's take a lifetime to say
I knew you well
For only time will tell us so
And love may grow for all we know

Love, look at the two of us
Strangers in many ways
Let's take a lifetime to say
I know you well
But only time will tell us so
And love may grow for all we know

Song can be found on Youtube here.

Again, if you have prompts that you want to suggest, just include them in a comment on this post. Prompts don't have to match the theme for the week. Anything about marriage is welcome. Happy prompting!
