http://www.dictionary.com/wordoftheday/archive/2010/09/19.htmljactation: a restless tossing of the body.
Well, yes, I am a bit bored. But only in that I've got a load of bits and bobs done, so the 'to-do' list is less now.
Lez Fisheys? Yeah, they're cool. Still schwim-schwim-schwimming around and doing their thing. I had a bit of a pump problem a while back so... One of the things that is now fixed obviously. So lo, lez fisheys is happy again.
The Network is patched up again, as I now have a beefier Gigabit at the central point of teh star set-up. The older one was wearing out a bit, and I'd lost a port. It was too small for the job really, so I had to get some bits in. So that's all tickedy boo now. And Sideswipe is a lovely piece of kit. Credit to Micro$oft on this one I have to say. Windows 7 is really quite lovely. Fast-booting, smooth running, yup works for me. If only Ubuntu's flash was so reliable, but that's not a biggy as I have other options for that kind of thing. Rodimus is really a work-horse now, although still very useful.
The websites are going well. Obviously little projects to keep the ctg ticking over. I likes 'em. I can't believe how big the cooking webiste is now. I must admit I did not realise I had lobbed that many recipe's up. They're all good though, that's the cool thing. I am currently moving into a Turkey phase as well, which is handy for Xmas ideas for the site. I've already done Turkey, Leek, and Caerphilly Soup, but what will be next?
My addiction to chewy sweets is back. Like soft-mints and soft-fruits. And Sainsbury's cheepo toffee. Dear gods is that toffee nice. It never lasts the day :D
What else? Well, the pain is down. Obviously I still have neighbor problems, and from what I can tell they still cannot sense the harm they have caused. It's like they have no memory. I wish the landlady would just get rid of them. The Voices ( repeats of the taunting, but memories you hear ) are worse in the flat. As this is where it happened obviously. And that was a hell of a lot of pain to deal with. And they are only looking out for themselves. I need them gone to get my home back, but no-one so far has even deemed to recognise my rights. That's a very dodgy bias and then some. Although typical of Croydon in my experience.
Got my DLA obviously, so at least I know that is covered. One less thing to freak about IYSWIM. I am still skint ( 15k pa and running a flat in South London don't mix etc etc ), but at least my basics are very well covered. Do I miss the clubs? Nah. Too many gossipping idiots, and too many stupid kids. When you've had your nerves stamped on as many times as I have for as many stupid reasons you take the hint. Uptown was faaaaar too jumpy a place in the end.
Chicks? Don't be silly. I'd have to leave the house to meet one of those. I still have pen-friends, and the bias for preferred company is still women. But that's an education thing mixed with the usual 'stuff in common' factor. Meat-heads need not apply.
Obviously my mood has improved with teh pain being down. I am still deeply angered by the shocking lack of care from NHS Croydon for all those years, and how if I had been looked after properly I may well have been out of this rutt 7 odd years ago. But these idiots just won't stop or back down.
So all in all I'd say I was ticking over. Not quite the same as actually living, but at least I'm not dead. Dead kinda sucks. Oh, and I'm reading books again. I went off it for a bit as something was bubbling to the surface and I needed to focus on reality. But that was
the pagan essays, and now they're done I seem to be able to drift into the realms of fantasy again.
And I have some Lovecraft books to read so... Works for me :)
Oh yes, is it bad and wrong to have speakers on your bed-posts? It's better sound than the laptop can produce, for those days when yer legs are naff IYSWIM. Too OTT? Yes?
I'll have to keep them then ;)
