On Labor Day, a friend and I decided it would be fun to take a walk along the Lakeshore. So we headed down to
Montrose Beach. We knew something was very odd when we hopped onto Lake Shore Drive and could see neither the Lake nor the City.
DEMENTORS HAD SWALLOWED UP CHICAGO!!!
I've never ever seen fog like this is Chicago. We were about 20 feet away from the water's edge before we ever saw it. And by the time we were close to the water, we could hardly see the concession stand. The picture with the step-like circular ledges, under normal conditions, would be a stunning cityscape. Instead... Dementor mist.
After walking around for an hour or so (including walking out that curlique breakwater), we decided to call it a day. Funny thing was, by the time we walked back to the parking lot, the fog had moved almost all out to the water, so the beach had become much more active. My friend an I decided that it was worth being there for the fog, even if we felt like the last picture - that we were lost going nowhere. :)
