Love?
„I believe I might love you. “ Illyria stated quietly, breaking the kiss she was sharing with Angel. They had been in this situation for some time now, together, but not. Or only one of them realising what was happening.
Angel knew that they were heading towards something more than just the occasional experimental kiss while Illyria had seen it solely as an experiment, an exploration of her more human self up to now.
“What makes you think that?” Angel asked Illyria casually.
“The way I feel when I am near you. I feel warm and happy… and I wish to stay that way with you.” She explained thoughtfully.
“Is this love?” she asked, regarding Angel with all the eagerness of someone intent on learning a new lesson and with no little amount of wonder in her voice.
Angel gave Illyria another gentle kiss while contemplating her question.
“It might be.” He then said. “But I can’t tell you for sure. Love is not something you can define. No one has ever managed to pin-point love completely and to write it in a book or something. It’s … just something you feel.”
Illyria sighed, apparently not perfectly happy with Angel’s attempt at an explanation.
“How do I know when I feel love?” she asked impatiently.
Angel smiled at her slightly and laid his hand on where he could feel her heart beating. “You’ll know it here. In your heart.” He said.
