Last week.

Ikea was nuts last week; lots of customers' wanting everything in the new catalogue which we don't have yet! Lisa & I didn't start up cleanup until 9pm on Thursday night but we still had a good catchup. We're definitely going to do a 'Girls Night In' this month to support Breast Cancer & I'm going to do all the food!

Sue (Boss) hired 3 new people in the last month for our team but apparently one of them isn't allowed to lift anything heavier than 10kg; she even has a doctor's note saying such. What is the POINT I ask you? I really don't think you should be working in Self-Serve unless you're capable or prepared to lift stuff. The worst thing I think is to be constantly handballing customers' because you aren't able to help them!

Work on Saturday was dead but it went fast so it was good. I spent Saturday night reading all the papers' & watching Foxtel.

G & I went to Freo on Sunday morning; Angus & Robertson were closing down & they had 40% off all books! I was VERY good & only bought one 'Agatha Christie' by Laura Thompson (non-fiction) We had lunch, looked around in all my favourite shops & then went to Mum & Dad's house for Dad's birthday dinner. My cousins' all came around plus our friends' Jeanne & Peter and I cooked a standing rib (beef) roast with roast potatoes, Yorkshire puddings, peas & honey carrots. Mum had made apple crumble & Jeanne made Dad a cake (photo below) with Sir Dennis (and his age - 88) written on it, a small knight with real mini swords (from Austria) & she surrounded the cake with a printout of the Bayeux Tapestry on it!! It was a fantastic cake - I have no idea how she made grey icing.

Monday - G & I went to the Royal Show, I found us free parking (hooray!) ate our way around the Yellow Brick Road, watched horse jumping, ate ribs & bought WAAY too many showbags. Came home & collapsed for the rest of the afternoon.

I worked yesterday & I don't have to be back at work (shop) until next Monday YAY!

Went into town this morning, bought 3 pairs of shoes & summer clothes. On my way home, had lunch at Cantina, bought Christmas presents & walked home in the rain.

That's right people - I'm halfway through my Christmas/Birthday presents list. 29 presents down - 38 to go.

I've made curry for dinner - time to eat!

The awesome 'Sir Dennis' cake!

I don't think Dad enjoyed our singing haha

Dad's not looking too bad for 88!
