Stars, I have seen them fall
(but not one wish comes true).
By a lake of green
at night;
The stars seemed a little closer
as you taught me constellations-
(everything had a name but us)
wind shivered
and dew grew with the grass,
green with summer hope
(even in the dark).
The night loved us,
welcoming us,
the sneaking bandits of Kwanzan Court,
into a world of fading street lamps
and whispers.
My steps were silent
(though my pounding heart was not)
as I ran through friendly shadows.
We found each other
(breathless)
only moments before dawn.
Your coat around my shoulders
was soft and unnecessary
(in the summer heat)
but I like myself better
with you.
If more stars fall I plan
to catch them
and give them back to you.
But until then
we can look at different skies
(just know you're on my mind).
School is weird. That's the only way I know how to say it.
I'm trying to take on as many responsibilities as possible so I don't have time to look around and realize that all of my best friends are gone.
It's easier to walk alone quickly, rushing through the halls, delivering papers, finding club members, organizing meetings - then I can pretend I don't even have time for best friends.
It's not bad. In fact, school is far better than I expected, and people are so wonderfully nice.
But it's still weird.

And there I go, being a cliche again :-/
