Literature, So What? - One angle...

I read this book by Pierre Bayard called "how to talk about books you haven't read".  It's an excellent book and one that I definately recommend.  Anyway, in the book, Pierre makes the case for non-reading, saying that in any situation, the well prepared person can talk with authority on any book they've never ( Read more... )

It's encouraging to read about your growth throughout the semester. I guess the challenge now is to find a way to see the inner benefits of all the units offered at the Uni: a tricky task for sure.

I am not much of a talker.  Usually I prefer just to listen and give my two cents every now and then.  However, when I sit down to write something - anything - I have this, I don't know, fear I guess.  Of what I can't say.  Being misunderstood?  Probably.  I can't seem to take my scant speech and transplant it onto a page.  If I were to describe ( Read more... )

Hi Laura. I really enjoyed your poem and the images that came through from your writing. I could almost feel the painful 'snap' of the bones in the first part: quite disturbing yet strangely provocative. Very nicely done.
