As you will no doubt remember, a few weeks ago I had an 'incident' with a shopping trolley. For those with a memory worse than mine, I hit a shopping trolley that had been thrown from a bridge onto a dual carriageway. I was doing 70mph at the time... Yeah, I'm pretty sure it would have taken a fluke shot to have hurt either of us!

Marley was just curious and wanted to go look in the bushes, when they rustled as the pellet went through them.

They turned up, 4 hours after the incident and basically said there was nothing they could do... I pointed out that as I knew roughly where it had come from (almost certainly someone's back garden, or house), maybe they could knock on a couple of doors and ask if anyone had heard anything... he said 'we COULD do that...' the implication being that they weren't going to. He DID apologise (and seem embarrased) for the time it took to come out, but then tried to defend the Police by saying 'well that was a life threatening situation' when I mentioned the armed response unit I got inside 5 minutes for the shopping trolley incident. I then asked if being shot at WASN'T a potentially life threatening thing... to which he looked embarrased again and changed the subject.
