it's been since when???

Usually - I am tough to get a hold of during the holidays - it was more evident this year than in years past due to job hunting... December is a busy time already - but this past one saw me sending out applications and resumes right and left... a few by foot - others online... Bigg's, CBS Office Solutions, CVS Pharmacy, Fifth Third Bank, Hilton Netherland Plaza Hotel, Hyatt Regency (3 times), Kinko's, Macy's, Marriott Courtyard, Marriott Cincinnati Airport, Public Library Of Cincinnati, Sears, Sheraton, Stein Mart, Target, The Vernon Manor Hotel, The Westin Hotel, and Walgreens - just to name a few... it looked like I was going nowhere - even with the staffing services!...

I finally received a call from The Drawbridge Inn, a few days after I had followed through on an application - only to be told positions had already been filled. I was hired as a night auditor the following week and have been working the graveyard shift ever since...

So far - so good... I haven't had too hard a time getting used to the hours... what's been hard is losing touch with my friends and family!!!... a lonely feeling to say the least, but I am coping... it won't be like this forever.

On the family front - my Dad had overexerted himself the other night at his girlfriend Sheri’s great grand daughter’s birthday party. He carried a 40 pound trunk from his van into their house. Coming in winded and white lipped, he said he felt okay; Sheri’s daughter called paramedics to be on the safe side. Luckily he checked out, but he was told to take it easy.

A phrase unknown to my Dad or Sheri - this has me concerned to say the least.

Speaking of medical issues - I have had a reoccurring pain on the right side of my stomach - not harsh, but annoying.

Is it something I ate recently? Is it because for the first time in seven years I've had to wear a belt tightly again? (it’s true)... Or could it be because of the change in lifestyle? I was worried my appendix had flared up once again (In 5th grade I
was in the hospital for two weeks with appendicitis and never had it removed).

Either I pay COBRA support for the past 4 months... $1560, to see the doctor now - or - wait till
my new coverage begins in April.

Though he could not see me - my doctor believes it not appendicitis but an ulcer, since I’m able to move without any pain. So I'm taking Prilosec in the interim, watching what I eat, and drinking tea hither and thither - hoping it goes away... or untill I have to go to the emergency room... whichever comes first...

Could always be worse…
