This movie bothered me when I saw it, too. (I'd since mostly forgotten about it, lovely images aside.)
What's most striking about this is how unfairly Anna is treated -- she has everything in her life taken away, then when she tries to end her suffering, she's sent to endure eternal suffering.
And while we can't say it's entirely without warning, the source that warned against that also warned against eating clams and all sorts of other crazy things, which I bet the others who got to go to heaven violated.
