NOT what I need to have happen today...

As if today I needed more to deal with:

So I go to move the coldbox with the peak fraction of my enzyme and the mock from one side of my bench to the other, and the coldbox slips, one of the tubes hops out, bounces on my benchtop, shatters, and bounces to the floor. Which tube is it? The easily replaceable mock? NO! It is the peak fraction of my enzyme - which cost the Jode-meister two/three weeks of work, and was going to provide at least three weeks of biochemistry for me. Nothing was recoverable. There are little bits of RecQ4 scattered around my lab area now.

If it weren't for the fact that I had an assay all set up and ready to go, I would have left right then. However, I did have one ready to go, and so vented as best possible, though a good punching bag was sorely lacking. The only positive spin on the situation was put there by Jode.

The reading is from the Wisdom of Jode. Let us attend:

"You're religious, so I don't know if you're allowed to think these sorts of things, but the only omnipresent being whose existence I'm sure of is Murphy. If he has to resort to this to f*** your experiment, that means it's going to work. If your reagents are easy to get, and everything goes as planned, that means your theory's wrong."
