I park in the loading dock behind/in-front-of Nanaline Duke: that dread fortress of science, impervious to all outside life and electronic signals, especially those that would convey information.
There is a white van, a maroon Grand Am, and now my golden Taurus.
I enter and meet the wizened, battle hardened warrior of science. I greet him.
"It's kinda funny to pull in and see only your car and my car in the loading dock."
"That's because we're the only lab who really works. Not because we're the only lab with out a social life."
"That's right. It has nothing to do with that."
