I welcome all harassment related to Tony's hotness. Did you see that they gave him a new shirt? I'm so happy right now, I am literally flailing!

Ha, that's an awesome pun, it really is. There was just something about his facial features that I found so appealing. He was pretty, almost, and then he was strutting around in that Navy uniform and just. Yeah.

I can't decide which part I loved more -- the fact that the rednecks at the bar decorated the deer's head to look like Rudolph (did this actually happen, or am I making it up? I might be making it up), or the fact that Tony made a joke about it and then the guy got offended. I loved everything about the bar scene, including how he pretty much grabbed everything he could get his hands on to whack the rednecks before he had to resort to actually hitting one.

Tony was so awesome in this. It's ridiculous how awesome he was. I need more words, I know, but he was so sweet and kickass in his own special way. He has a thing with the blonde wives this season. IDEK what, but it's really hot that he doesn't care if they like him, not even a little bit.

Gibbs! OMG Gibbs! This episode was so great because I could kind of see, for the first time, how difficult Jackson might have been after Mrs. Gibbs died. And where Gibbs gets his gift of not-talking! For two people who seemed to want to talk, they sure had trouble sitting down and actually doing it. But still! Gibbs offered! Gibbs!! He's trying so hard.

His shirt! I knew you'd love it, because in the absence of any cosy sweaters it totally hugged his chest and his back! I loved the shoulder details and the colour, and the way he was tucking himself in during the synchronised-head-turn scene!

I have no idea what he's been in before, but he really was lovely - he had such a nice, fine-featured face, with those eyes, and then his voice just turned me to mush. It was so smooth.

I think the bar brawl was a prime example of Tony's scrappiness! (But he was also quite good!) I also like that at the end, when he got thrown onto the table, he totally covered his head. I was half expecting him to yell out, "No! Not the face!" I may have yelled that out myself. You didn't dream it, he totally saw the reindeer - whose red nose looked suspiciously dark - and couldn't resist saying something about it. He just looked delighted!

I don't know whether I'm just noticing it more this season, because I do think he's always been awesome, but his interrogation skills and the way he interviews has just become twenty times hotter! I loved him with this blond wife as much as in the Halloween episode - even before he got all confrontational, he was kind of insidiously dangerous when he was like, "If you don't mind my asking ...". I think Tony models his interrogation and general style from cool people on TV, but the pacing and the way he stands just to the back and side of Gibbs really, really works for him, as do the knowing quips. I think it's hot because it's Tony being the job, and being uber-professional with that little quirky, humorous edge - and yes, not caring at all if they think he's a prick.

I think I loved Gibbs more in this episode than I have ever loved him before (partly because the way he acted totally fit in with the way I've been reading his character). I actually got emotional literally within ten seconds of Jackson arriving, and then Gibbs' face just before the hug killed me. I also made some insane noises when, after the fire, Gibbs ran in and immediately started taking his pulse. I don't know why that delighted me quite so much, but it did. I'm still totally on a high from the episode, so I'm a little biased, but I genuinely think that the way their whole relationship was played was fantastic, it really felt awkward and hard but with genuine effort there too. I had thought Jackson Gibbs was far more of a talker, though, than Gibbs himself, and that the weird thing during the visit that had Gibbs worried was that he wasn't talking - I'll need to rewatch this ep and Heartland to check. I'm also falling in love with the idea that Gibbs seems to have surrounded himself by people who love to talk - actually, people who often just won't shut the fuck up - despite his own lack of communication skills. It's really cute.

Heh, it didn't occur to me to worry about his face. I was just thinking about his hair. Though I guess it's not really long enough anymore to get mussed by a bottle to the back of the head.

Has Tony always followed Gibbs around like that? The great thing about it is that he looks like he belongs there.

I like that take on Gibbs. And also, it's nice that, even though he really wanted to talk to his father, he didn't know how to get him to open up, which is sort of the problem he's always had with Tony. (Everyone talks about Tony's Daddy Issues, but Tony = Jackson?)

Gibbs' hand on his dad's shoulder when they were sitting on the sofa made me seriously mushy.

Edit: I forgot to squee about the shirt! I know it's not necessary, but EEEEEEEEE! That shirt was so nice. It was clingy and... stuff. Words fail me. But the shoulder details and... yeah. I liked it a lot. Also at the synchronized-head-turning scene, McGee and Ziva were moving in synch, too. And I thought Tony was just out of sync with them, but then Gibbs showed up and he and Tony were moving together and. And! I just love the little hints that Tony is becoming more leaderly. This was such a great episode.

I’m concerned for the entire area above his shoulders. I was just watching the first episode of S7 and thinking what a nice length his hair was then - but then, it was kind of a little too long the episodes after that, and it’s a teeny bit short now, which means some awesome hair episodes might be coming up!

He’s always stood a little bit too close, I think, but it’s the synchronisation which seems new - and very, very awesome. I was capping Heart Break last week, and there’s this one scene when they’re heading into the hospital and Tony is following Gibbs so closely I am surprised he doesn’t step on the back of his heels! His following does seem a little bit more relaxed, now, though, less eager, like he knows he doesn’t have to, but he likes to do it anyway.

Tony totally does = Jackson! Because I’d always thought Jackson was quite chatty, but so is Tony, yet neither of them are actually saying anything! They’re just cushioning their own uncommunicativeness with words, whereas Gibbs doesn’t bother with any cushioning whatsoever. And actually, looking back over the series, Gibbs may never have liked to open up about himself - and he’s still being quite reluctant about it, though improving - he’s always been quite willing to listen, even if he only voices that aloud to traumatised victims and children.

I completely forgot the hand on the shoulder - it’s the way he moves his thumb just a little bit that gets me, too.

This could very well be my favourite episode of the season so far. I certainly haven’t made as much noise during an episode until this one! I hadn’t noticed that about McGee and Ziva - I was shallowly distracted - but if they’re moving in sync, that makes me so happy. They’re becoming a proper team again! With great shirts!
