Medical stuff...

So...I had been having chest pain for like a month and a half in the left side of my chest. It wasn't much fun...in fact, no fun at all. So after weeks of dealing with it, afraid that it might be my heart, I went to the doctor last Friday and had it checked out.

My doctor (I swear one of the most friendly and fun doctors that I've ever had) poked and prodded me, made me move my arm around, asked questions, even got me hooked up to an ECG (aka EKG) just for good measure. After that was said and done, she said that she believed that I had suffered a rotator cuff injury sometime, and that the pain I was experiencing was the inflamed tissues. She got me a perscription for an anti-inflammitory (kind of like Aleve, only more active ingredient), and wrote up the paperwork so that I could get a cholesterol and blood glucose test (my dad's side of the family has a history of both heart disease and diabetes.), and promised to email me when she got the results.

Because you need to fast for 12+ hours, I couldn't get my blood tested that morning (I had eaten breakfast), and because I had Jury duty on Monday, I had to wait until Tuesday. I went in, they took the two vials, and that was it.

This morning I wake up with a little surprise in my mailbox, my numbers.
Blood pressure: 92/60 (I include this one merely for record and that it is very much heart related)
Total cholesterol: 111 (goal is <200)
LDL cholesterol: 65 (goal is <160)

I'd say that was good enough. My mom's side of the family doesn't have any history of heart disease...maybe I got some of those good genes? I hope so. It works nicely with my plan of living forever.
