Yuuuup, I'm in my university residence now. Someone's in the showers, so I'm waiting for him/her to be done before going (I prefer to go alone... just to be on the safe side, y'know ^^;) It's weird, living with so many strangers after being with my family for so many years. There're people around who have habits very different from mine (i.e. loud ( Read more... )

Haha. My parents always warned about univeristy roommates and their presence always going to be a distraction. Which is why despite my longing for adventure, I never did ask them permission to take up residence. (Other factors too). But you got your own room though right? Its it those Toronto styled houses with the multi floors and you each get your own room kinda thing?

Music? Ah, I've always listened and only listened to soundtrack music but over the past few months I've come to accept other blends of music. Given your classical tastes, correct me if I'm wrong but it can be said that your inner reflection and emotions are quite well developed. Because the rythmn of classical music is generally slower then the rate of your heart beat, it calms you, slows you down. Classical is kinda an indirect form of music. Ambient in nature. Deep. Radio music is generally more direct. Because of its quick rythmns, it is able to excite people more easily. Makes you feel good. The arms start going, the legs, body. Sooner or later, they're dancing up a storm. But because of its quick nature plus the influence of lyrics, one cannot delve as deeply as once possibly with more classical genres. But then again, you got the lyrics to groove with so its about finding a common voice.

LoL, ok. Put it this way. Think of radio music as like "popcorn movies". Or classical = Inner Mind Candy, radio = Outer Mind + Body candy. You kinda need a bit of both.

Its just this theory or trend I realized through all my philosphical/psychological questioning/reflection. Ok call me a freak..lol

Well MJ, its the last Hooah! before the number crunching begins so loosen up a bit and party! (Speaking of which I still have to buy my textbooks..lol) Get out there, get to know your pals and have a good time!

Oh yea, great stuff. When we all hit the field at UTSG, it was like those old ages. The battles raged across the open fields. The flags fluttering in the wind, the chants echoed about. Learned alot about being a Flagbearer. The responsibilities as well as the dangers. You get hit first..lol. Some Vic boy launched a student services FYI bean bag into the air and when it caught my eye, I was like huh?...oh no. I watched it arch across towards me growing bigger in size and then SMACK right into my larynx and took my breath away. It was surreal. Just like the movies except that there was no red going everywhere and I was still alive. Shaken not stirred..lol. Now I can learn how to play happysack or w/e its called.
