My mind and body right now are manifestations of BURNING BALLS OF HATE AND DESPAIR.
My computer, which wouldn't connect to the internet today, was fixed...in three grueling hours, during which people had to run every test possible to find a problem. One tech was so bewildered that she muttered, "that's the most effed up problem I've ever seen. I have no clue what to do next" when nothing worked.
The fix, which I was lucky enough to have worked, was a reinstall of my entire operating system. This means that everything gets wiped out before put back together. Luckily, I have my one terabyte (read: enormous) external hard drive from my last unfortunate encounter with the apple store on Black Friday.
It was also good that I backed it up immediately upon buying, because then it would have taken too long to wait for everything to do so today. Thanks to my impulse buy, I was saved the trauma of an even longer wait.
I'll probably slowly be adding back the necessary things as needed, to keep my computer from being too bogged up.
Also, I would like to share one piece of tech advice for everyone in the world who owns a computer--BACK UP YOUR SHIT. NOW. YOU WILL NOT BE SORRY.
I also feel a cold coming on, so my nose is doing the runny snot thing and my throat is scratchy. I also have a cold sore on the bottom of my tongue, which gives me pain whenever I put anything into my mouth.
What an effing miserable day. I know I need them occasionally, to balance out all the others, but...hell, my bad days are just plain miserable.
