since huff hasnt done it yet, i suppose ill inform the world of the latest catastrophe:
so the wind is blowing at a steady 22 mph with gusts up to 28. we decide to take the sailboat out. upon our return from rabbit island, a monsterous gust erupts from the heavens, knocking the boat on its side. the water is ice cold. we point the mast into the wind to help us right it. the wind catches the sail, rights the boat, but continues over, knocking the mast back into the water on the other side. we eventually get it up, and underway. the pin holding the front sail (jib) snaps. it commences to flap wildly in the wind. it swings around the mast, stabbing a gigantic hole in the mainsail, ripping itself as well. the hole in the mainsail continues ripping until the top third is completely severed. the jib cant be refastened, and the boom is disconnected from the remainder of mainsail. jake holds the back corner of the sail, trying to catch enough wind to make the last 200 yards back to huffs house. it didnt work. a kind old man towed us in. in conclusion, god hates sailboats, or lake yale is cursed.
