the n.y. times sunday book review used to have a feature in the back, titled "noted with pleasure," where editors would just print cool excerpts from things they were reading and wanted to share. i always thought that was cool so it's the new friday feature here....

today, i share this brief, merciless satire of the rolling stones that amberfox re-posted from her local daily paper--the entertainment columnist is reflecting on the super bowl:

During halftime, a giant praying mantis in a stressed-leather body suit delivered near-perfect versions of Rolling Stones songs. After the show, it was revealed to be none other than Sir Mick Jagger. Roadies and other backstage personnel were advised not to look him in the face, lest his gaze rob them of their life essence.
