just in case there wasn't *enough* reason to hate Sarah Palin and her policies

Gee, I wonder why I haven't seen anything about *this*?

You know, nine years ago, I went to a Bat-Mitzvah in New York where the Rabbi said in his sermon, "It used to be Jews who won prizes and awards. What happened? Now it's people with names like Chang and Wong."

I walked out of the Sanctuary. If that had been my Temple, not only would I never have gone back, I would've told every single person I knew that was affiliated with that Temple, so that they could make an informed decision if they wanted to be associated with such a bigoted asshole. Almost a decade later, I still remember what he said, word-for-word, because I'd never heard such crap in a Temple before, and I hope to never hear it again. Because nothing gives you the right to be a bigot - *nothing* - and especially not your religion.

So the fact that Sarah Palin sat in her church *less than a month ago* and listened to their guest speaker of the director of Jews for Jesus (an organization Jews hate and detest) say that attacks on innocent Jews were god's "judgment of unbelief" of Jews who hadn't found Jesus and embraced Christianity, that she sat there while he said,

"Judgment is very real and we see it played out on the pages of the newspapers and on the television. It's very real. When [Brickner's son] was in Jerusalem he was there to witness some of that judgment, some of that conflict, when a Palestinian from East Jerusalem took a bulldozer and went plowing through a score of cars, killing numbers of people. Judgment - you can't miss it."

That this is *okay* with her and she's still a member of that Church and attends regularly and supports these kinds of sermons? Yeah, sorry, but there's nothing she can say or do that will justify this.

Kind of funny that I don't see all of the people who screamed for Obama's blood because of his association with Reverend Wright coming forward and denouncing this left and right. Funny that I don't see them attacking her for not only sitting there and listening, but continuing to attend. Funny that I've barely seen a single article on this - and not even a hint in mainstream media. But let me guess, that's *different*, right? After all, nobody in that sermon was trashing *white* people. I guess it doesn't matter when it's just Jews. They probably deserve it anyway.

ETA: By the way, in case anybody thinks that because this guy was just a guest speaker Sarah Palin holds no responsibility for being in that sermon, here's an article about some of the things the Pastor who baptized her as a child, given her invocation when she became governor, and has been the Pastor of the church that she has attended through her childhood and most of her adult life has said:

Pastor Kalnins has also preached that critics of President Bush will be banished to hell; questioned whether people who voted for Sen. John Kerry in 2004 would be accepted to heaven; charged that the 9/11 terrorist attacks and war in Iraq were part of a war "contending for your faith;" and said that Jesus "operated from that position of war mode.

"I'm not going tell you who to vote for, but if you vote for this particular person, I question your salvation. I'm sorry." Kalnins added: "If every Christian will vote righteously, it would be a landslide every time."

and

What you see in Iraq, basically, is a manifestation of what's going on in this unseen world called the spirit world. ... We need to think like Jesus thinks. We are in a time and a season of war, and we need to think like that. We need to develop that instinct. We need to develop as believers the instinct that we are at war, and that war is contending for your faith. ... Jesus called us to die. You're worried about getting hurt? He's called us to die. Listen, you know we can't even follow him unless you are willing to give up your life. ... I believe that Jesus himself operated from that position of war mode."

and

"I believe Alaska is one of the refuge states in the last days, and hundreds of thousands of people are going to come to the state to seek refuge and the church has to be ready to minister to them."

What does Palin have to say about this? She continues to attend conferences and special meetings and and recently as June said, ""Having grown up here, and having little kids grow up here also, this is such a special, special place...What comes from this church I think has great destiny."

I guess that's still all *different* though! After all, Kalnins has *faith* and so does Sarah Palin! Wright is just *angry*. I mean, it's not like Obama has publicly admitted that Wright said things that were over-the-top and that he didn't believe in and cut political ties while Palin continues to praise the church and Kalins and attend when she can, right? Right?
