I'm getting a very strong Cloud vibe from you. My first thought was Squall, but I think the way you describe yourself fits Cloud's character as he develops in the game better. Your positive/negative adjectives really seem to describe Cloud for me (except the bit where he's being a jerk of a mercenary). The negative attributes in particular - I think Cloud is very aware of what people think of him, because of the fact that he got bullied as a child, and he's pessimistic and self-recriminating enough for him not to tell Tifa and co. when he came down with Geostigma, because he thought he'd be a burden. It is consideration and being respectful of someone's feelings, in a way - it's quite unfortunate, then, that he misread things and that he's so outright stubborn, which I guess fits in with your 'inflexible' adjective.
Your 'not a natural leader but not a follower' either really reminds me of him. He's not the sort to step up to a leadership position; he'd rather follow people, but at the end of FFVII everyone's following him.

She is rather reserved for the most part, but not necessarily shy (she has no problem talking to people once a conversation is started); she is calm (even when she realizes that she was "cursed" in the early parts of FFTA2, she doesn't fall into despair or go insane with the realization...rather, she decides that she'll figure out what exactly happened to her and perhaps how to fix it); she is also very logical and comes up with strategies and plans for everything--never going into a situation impulsively (which is one of the reasons why she became such a famed Blade Master); she is both inbetween a leader and a follower given the circumstances

(!) Don't you just hate when you have somebody in your head and you can't think of who they are? Well that was me reading your application last night (maybe it being 3 am was the problem). Anywho, I digress, I think that Frimedla is absolutely perfect for you. breyzyyin already described it perfectly, but reading your application I could just see so much of her in you. She is a very selfless, hardworking person just trying to do whats best. She is kind, but a bit reserved when you first meet her. Once you get her talking though, she is pretty friendly. She is mature, calm, and fairly cautious (which really goes with being mature). Generally I just she is the best match for you.
I see lots of Cloud. There was also Vincent Valentine and Aerith (for the selflessness), but I kept coming back to Cloud. Most of your positive and negative adjectives reminded me of him. You want respect from people and you don't see your friends and family expendable at all nor the world as well, despite your introverted and pessimistic personality. Your choice section pretty much fit him perfectly. Lastly, the final section made me think of how he'd respond too.
I'm also seeing a whole lot of Cloud. Your "a few choices" answers in particular - not enamored of initiating conversations, calm, logical - reminded me a lot of him.
