[Daytrip]: Tegernsee Prinzenruh & Wasenkogel (1211 m) - March 13th

Mar 27, 2022 13:04

Hullo again!

So, as mentioned before there was a weekend with good weather, so I was out and about again.
Unlike Saturday it was more crowded on the streets, but again no problem to find a (paid) parking lot this time.

I went to Tegernsee again. You'd think it gets boring, but as there are so many things to explore and so many mountains to hike around this lake, this was surely not my last time there. ;)
And it is a lovely region after all. :)

Leaving the lake right away and hiking up a bit.

Reached the observation platform "Prinzenruh" shortly after.

The view from there is really stunning and I loved it.
You don't have to work a lot to get up there and enjoy this view.

Note the color of the grass. It's so dry as obviously we didn't get enough rain.
You'd think that all that melting snow would do the trick, but nope ...

Although I saw that there was still a lot of snow left and I actually had my hiking boots on (which can't handle snow or wet underground) I decided to try and actually hike up to a mountain nearby.

It wasn't that easy because there was a snow field I had to master to get up there, but I made it - and with dry feet somehow! :)

And an empty, not snow-covered bench was awaiting me at the top. Yay!

Needless to say that I took a break there.
It was already late, so I already ate my lunch in the forest on a bench, but what a lovely view!

Close-up of Lake Tegernsee and the surrounding mountains - some of them I have already climbed.

Lovely mountain panorama from up there.

Zoom out. You can see the nice mountain panorama and the snow field below that I had to handle in order to get to the summit.

And on my way back down again.

The bakery was just about to close when I arrived, but they were nice enough to still give me something to-go and I could sit on their terrace to devour the well deserved sugar and caffeine. ;)

Back at the lake to walk back to my car.
By that time it was really cold and still windy, so I walked very fast. ;)
The coffee helped in warming me up but that didn't last very long.

Despite being cold, I stopped here and there to take some photos, because the evening colors just looked gorgeous on the lake!

And while there were many people around noon time, there was almost nobody left at that time. ;)

Hope you enjoyed the photos!

Prague photos will probably follow soon.

Bye~chuu!
