(no subject)

I can barely type from tiredness but it has been so long since my last update I have loads of things to say! I hope I remember it all, and not abandon my thoughts halfway through the entry.

On Monday I had my first exams after first term ended. I studied for my PL (Portuguese language) exam and I think I did well, the English one was ridiculous (lol no offense, really, but come on). Of course, Mondays are horrible even when I do well on the exams because the entire afternoon is spent at school, then when I get home I must rush off to Kumon at 5 and only get home after 6. Anyway, I still had an essay due for Tuesday so I was banging my head on the wall 10:00 at night because I still wasn't finished. Arghh.

Speaking of school, next week is our field trip :D Woot. Our bus leaves at 1:30pm from campus to take us to the airport. I am so skipping school in the morning though, I really don't feel like going. At all. And even if I did I'd have to drag along my baggage, which would be extremely inconvenient. Can't wait, only a week left! We're getting there late afternoon-ish so probably we won't visit anything on the first day. On Friday we're going to the Italian restaurant (apparently a really good one, Cantina Roperto, it's called. I'd never heard of it before) and on Saturday night is the Broadway show!! Cats! I am going :D Okay so it is extremely expensive, but I only pay half with my student ID so.. I'm going :P

Tuesday, my dad asked me if I had any important lessons or any projects to hand in. I told him no, I didn't and asked him why. As it turned out, there was going to be a taming course at the barn, which was extremely interesting. So I was allowed to skip school to go the barn, from 8:30am till 6pm. Had lunch there with the BBs (barn boys :P It's catchy, haha) and got to ride afterwards. So, the guy who came from Sao Paulo tames young horses at this place called Universidade do Cavalo (University of the Horse. Hehe xD) and you could totally tell he really knew what he was doing. He got this 3 year old filly who was only halter broke and got her on a lead rope. After working with her a bit on the open ring he took her in to a paddock and started the lecture. It was really good. He practiced some flexibility exercises with her, then got her to step her inside hind foot across the outside foot, working with pressure/release as reward, it was awesome. And this filly (her name's Gisele) is extremely high strung normally, admittedly she did buck and try to rear a few times when he got out the flag (an orange flag on the end of a long whip) but then he worked it out, same idea (when she stopped reacting, he took away the pressure, in this case the flag). Believe it or not, he got a saddle on this girl and not only that but mounted too. Of course he said a hundred times that this is not how he works under normal circumstances, at his farm he stays with the horses for a minimum of 90 days, and he even said he's worried about these demos because what matters most is the impression his work is going to leave on the horse. So imagine Gisele's mind after that one day when all of a sudden she's taken out of her stall and gets a million different things introduced to her and then the next day she's totally lost.. but it was awesome. He got on a bridle as well, so cool the way he introduced it, she pulled the bit in herself! Anyway let's move on otherwise I'll ramble on about horses for ages..

Today I went home with my friend after school with my friend, had lunch at her place and we got some 'group' projects finished up (our groups are the best, honestly. So helpful *sarcasm*). My printer is running out of ink from all the pages I print for all these projects, really.

Umm what else.. I swear I had a hundred things on my mind. Oh. I want to get my hair cut on Saturday, must call salon and see if I can schedule in the afternoon.. It's been ages since I last cut it and the ends are all split, lol.

I'd like to say hi to my new lj friends, as usual some very interesting journals, looking forward to getting to know you guys :) And hello to older friendlies as well, huh :D
