Doctor Who Meme - Day 04 Part I - Your Favorite Doctor: Season 2 Picspam

Aug 20, 2010 16:18

(full meme) The Who meme is taking a while! And Day 4 is going to have three parts so it's going to take even longer. *g* What can I say? I can go on for a while about Ten. In case you've never been here and didn't guess, yes, Ten is my favorite Doctor.

I was going to go into all the reasons that I find him a fascinating character but I'm having some trouble banging the post into shape (though I do hope to get it together soon) so instead you're getting a picspam with one picture and a quote from every episode he was in starting with season 2.

The Doctor: These human beings. Consider their potential. From the day they arrive on the planet and blinking step into the sun. There is more to see than can ever be seen. More to do than-- no, hold on...(pauses, thinking) Sorry, that's 'The Lion King'. But the point still stands. Leave them alone!

The Doctor: (deadly quiet) And I'm being very, very calm. You wanna beware of that -- very, very calm. And the only reason I'm being so very, very calm is that the brain is a delicate thing. Whatever you've done to Rose's head, I want it reversed.

The Doctor: You want weapons? We're in a library. Books! Best weapons in the world. (He puts his glasses on.) This room's the greatest arsenal we could have. Arm yourself.

Sarah Jane: I thought you'd died. I waited for you and you didn't come back, and I thought you must've died.
The Doctor: I lived. Everyone else died.
Sarah Jane: What do you mean?
The Doctor: (quiet pain) Everyone died, Sarah.

The Doctor: Just a nightmare, Reinette, don't worry about it. Everyone has nightmares. Even monsters from under the bed have nightmares, don't you, monster?
Young Reinette: What do monsters have nightmares about?
The Doctor: Me, ha!

Rose: They're people?
The Doctor: They were. Until they had all their humanity taken away. It's a living brain jammed inside a cybernetic body. With a heart of steel. All emotions removed.
Rose: Why no emotions?
The Doctor: Because it hurts.

The Doctor: Yeah, but that's it! That's exactly the point! (despairingly) Oh, Lumic, you're a clever man...I'd call you a genius, except I'm in the room. But everything you've invented, you did to fight your sickness. And that's brilliant. That is SO human. But once you get rid of sickness and mortality, then what's there to strive for? Eh? The Cybermen won't advance. You'll just stop! You'll stay like this forever. A metal Earth with metal men and metal thoughts. Lacking the one thing that makes this planet so ALIVE. PEOPLE. Ordinary, stupid, brilliant people.

The Doctor: (quietly) In the street. They left her in the street. They took her face and just chucked her out and left her in the street. And as a result, that makes things...simple. Very, very simple. Do you know why? (yelling) Because NOW, Detective Inspector Bishop, there is no power on this Earth that can stop me. Come on!

The Doctor: So, when it comes right down to it, why did you come here? Why did you do that? Why? I'll tell you why. Because it was THERE. Brilliant. Excuse me, ah, Zach, wasn't it? Just stand there, 'cos I'm gonna hug you. Is that all right?
Zach: I s'pose so.
The Doctor: (edging towards him) Here we go. Coming in.

The Doctor: I believe... I believe I haven't seen everything, I don't know... it's funny, isn't it? The things you make up - the rules. If that thing had said it came from BEYOND the universe, I'd believe it, but BEFORE the universe... impossible. Doesn't fit my rule. Still, that's why I keep travelling. To be proved wrong. Thank you, Ida.

The Doctor: Sweet... maybe. Passionate... I suppose. But don't ever mistake that for nice.

The Doctor: I think we're there! (he stands, goes to the console) Fear. Loneliness. They're the big ones, Rose. Some of the most terrible acts ever committed have been inspired by them. We're not dealing with something that wants to conquer or destroy.

The Doctor: (joining them) So, you find the breech, probe it, the sphere comes through. Six hundred feet above London, bam. It leaves a hole in the fabric of reality. And that hole, you think, "oh, shall we leave it alone? Shall we back off? Shall we play it safe?" Nah, you think "let's make it BIGGER!

The Doctor: There's one tiny little gap in the universe left, just about to close. And it takes a lot of power to send this projection, I'm in orbit around a super nova. (laughs softly) I'm burning up a sun just to say goodbye.
