Oliver had been hour for hours before Chloe heard the steps on the rooftop of the Watchtower, she quickly wiped her face when she heard him, the more she thought about her situation with Clark and Clark's attitude lately, the less hope she had that they could work something out ( Read more... )

Oliver came in through the same window in the Watchtower that he always came through after patrol. He was wired, more awake and alert than usual, which he chalked up to the mugger he'd just stopped not thirty minutes before. He took the time to change into regular clothes--a long-sleeved white shirt and jeans--before making his way down the stairs to check on Chloe.

"Hey, Sidekick." He paused for a moment, taking in the sight of her tense, hunched shoulders as she faced away from him and sat at her computer.

He frowned slightly and moved over toward her.

"How was patrol?" She glanced at him over her shoulder and smiled a little, keeping her voice light.

"All right," he answered automatically. "Stopped a mugger a little while ago." He sat down on her desk next to her computer, facing her.

Chloe nodded, smiling softly at him, "good, you sound very proud of yourself," she teased as she turned her chair slightly to look up at him.

Chloe looked at him for a second and shrugged a shoulder, "it's nothing you don't already know, Oliver..." she said quietly, looking up at him.

"Meaning Clark," he said quietly, searching her eyes.

With a nod, she looked away then back at him, "I think it's best if I can just... ignore everything for now and call it a truce until the whole thing with Zod is over."

He drew in a breath and let it out slowly, sliding off her desk and moving so he was kneeling in front of her chair, his hands coming to rest on the armrests. "Chloe, I know this is hard. I can't really imagine how hard, actually," he admitted. "But you're strong. And you'll get through this. I promise."

Oliver nodded slightly and gave her hand a gentle squeeze, leading her to the stairs.

Frowning slightly, she followed him, not understanding what he was planning on doing.

He pushed open the door to the small room that held his bed and a TV. He pulled her inside gently, then shut the door behind him, turning to face her. "Pick out a movie," he told her, nodding toward the somewhat limited selection he'd moved over from the clock tower.

Chloe looked from him to the DVDs and back, cocking her head a little, "are you holding me hostage until I agree to watch a movie with you?"

His smile brightened a little more and he headed down the stairs once more. As much as he'd always claimed he enjoyed living alone, since he'd moved into the Watchtower with Chloe, he was beginning to realize how lonely he'd actually been. Having someone there after he got back from patrol was nice. Having someone to talk to that understood him, and whom he had no secrets from, was even better.

Despite the threat of the whole end of the world, Oliver was feeling better than he had in a very long time, and a lot of that was due to the pretty blonde upstairs.

While he popped her popcorn, he fixed himself a sandwich with lunch meat and cheese and lettuce, then headed back up the steps, curious to see what movie she'd picked out.

By the time he got back, Chloe had taken off her shoes and was sitting down on his bed, leaning against the headboard, "you have pretty good taste in movies."

He grinned. "I like to think so. What'd you pick out?" he asked curiously, handing her the bowl of popcorn and moving to the other side of the bed, sitting down beside her, his own back resting against the headboard. He took a bite of his sandwich.

She made a face, but kept smiling as she settled the bowl over her lap, "Terminator? Sounded like it could be inspiring." She grinned softly at him.

He smirked at that and faced forward, taking another bite of his sandwich as the movie began. After he finished eating, He glanced sideways at Chloe, then reached out and stole a handful of popcorn from the bowl.

Glancing over at him, she smiled and moves the bowl so it was between them, "are you sure just that sandwich will be enough for you?"

He shrugged. "I'll live," he teased her, popping a piece of the popcorn into his mouth.

"You better," she teased back, having some of the popcorn too.
